    Das Mutter-Tochter-Verhältnis ist ein wiederkehrendes Thema von Katja Lange-Müller. Trotz der Einrahmung durch einen Prolog und Epilog - die suggeriert, es handle sich um eine wahre Geschichte - ist das Romangeschehen und seine Figuren diesmal gänzlich erfunden (wie die Autorin in einem Interview klarstellte). Und doch scheint die Autorin die darin dargestellten Konflikte und psychischen Erblasten genau zu kennen. Ihre Figurenzeichnung gelingt ihr dabei äußerst plastisch, unsentimental und ohne Denunziation ihres Romanpersonals. Sie hält Distanz zu ihren Figuren, gönnt ihnen und der Erzählerin dabei eine gehörige Portion an Humor. Stil und Sprache sind lakonisch, ab und zu aber auch bissig und kalauernd.
    Ein Lesevergnügen mit unangestrengten Tiefgang.

    Habe auf Grund von überschwänglichen Bewertungen und Pressestimmen mich für Buch entschieden ! Leider sehr enttäuschend und lange nicht so etwas fortführend eintöniges mit gewöhnungsbedürftiger Satzbildung gelesen.
    Der Inhalt entspricht ebenfalls nicht der Erwartung des Titels, denn eigentliche Hauptfigur am äußersten Rand stehend und sprachlich sich Wiederholungen aneinander reihen!
    Nicht empfehlenswert.

    Unsympathische Figuren, in deren trostloses Leben man mit zunehmendem Widerwillen nicht eintauchen möchte.
    Bemühter Plot!
    Auch die Sprache hat was gekünstelt "Gewolltbrillantes" .... Verschachtelte Satzgebilde, aus denen man gedanklich abdriftet, zumal sie einen höchst uninteressanten Stoff transportieren...
