- Reviewed in Canada on February 11, 2025Verified PurchaseThis box set features all of the Universal monsters together in one great box set. You get Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, the Mummy, the Creature From the Black Lagoon and the Phantom of the Opera with all of the sequels, cross-over and subsequent franchise films included. Even the Abbott and Costello films starring the monsters are included. Yes, when they titled this thing ‘Complete’ they meant it. These pictures are presented in high definition on Blu Ray with loads of extras and a nice booklet in a sturdy and attractive compact box. Each monster’s films are housed in their own keep case with stylish labels and separate trays for each disc. A nice addition to any collection, especially if you can get it on sale.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 12, 2024Verified PurchaseIf you want the original 8 Universal Monster flicks, and all their spin-offs, this is the way to go. I own the main 8 movies in 4k but I wanted to watch the other related features so this was the perfect way to do that. I got the DVD version as the quality doesn't matter as much to me on the spin-off movies. It's also literally half the price of the Blu-ray version. Obviously the movies beyond the big 8 are a bit of a mixed bag, but that's part of the fun. The box itself is well made, thick cardboard with embossed copy and foil tinged imagery. The DVD's themselves come in DVD cases with flip holders inside them, none were broken on my set thankfully. I paid about $3 per movie, which was fine by me to be able to put this collection on my shelf.

So when I saw the price is right, I went in for the kill and gotten the complete Universal Studio Monster sets from 1931 to 1956. The Golden years of Horror and monster acting of its time. Its got all the monster movies, the discs are alright not one scratch (minus the small cracks on the case, but thats 鶹 normal now a days) Bottom line, just happy to add this to my collection, and just in time for next months Halloween event. A must have for any Monster Horror classic lovers out there. I guarantee it ^^

- Reviewed in Canada on May 9, 2019Verified PurchaseThis just arived for me a few hours ago and I could not be happier.
This is a box set of the classic universal monsters, some of the most influential horror films of all time.
I'm not going to give a synopsis or review of each film as there is 31 films in this collection (the box says 30 but the 1931 Spanish version of Dracula is included as a bonus).
The restoration on these films is nothing less the extraordinary, especially 1931's Dracula staring Bela Lugosi. The image is so crisp and clear the black nice and deep. Some of these films are close to 90 years old and the look like they were shot yesterday.
This is set is a bit on they expensive side, which if your a hardcore fan, once you see all the work that went into restoring each film you will understand.
I grew up loving these films, especially around halloween, to me the in capsule the spirit of the season. This nothing less then Halloween in a box.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 20, 2017Verified PurchaseIf you are a fan of the original Universal series of monster movies then this certainly delivers. It has the all the titular character movies such as Dracula, The Creature, The Mummy etc but also adds numerous sequels and spin offs ... Abbot and Costello anyone? There are also plenty of extras should you enjoy those.
I like this package because it contains pretty much everything you need should you enjoy the genre and at a good value (for me on sale anyway). While some may find these movies tame by today's CGI gore action fests, they do deliver some creepy moments. Remember that back when these were made, it was about the story and the acting rather than fluff. By no means are these Oscar worthy pictures but they are good clean fun and certainly worth watching. I think these are more watchable than some of today's remakes such as Tom Cruise's The Mummy.
Anyway, I like this and I think it is a worthy addition for any fan of the genre.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 11, 2023Verified PurchaseClassics are classics for a reason. These are all worth watching, Dracula and the Creature are my favourites but the others are all great watches too. Good packaging, nice sturdy box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Muchos monstruos en un gran box set
