The product works with my MacMini M4 to drive a 4k monitor at 60Hz as advertised. It also drives a 4k 60Hz monitor from my Lenovo T480 Thinkpad. It worked fine so I bought a second. However, it was clear that the second one was a returned item as the box had been opened.
For the money it is terrific value, less than you may pay for a cable and you get a good assortment of ports also.
It worked fine so I am not returning it, but a little bit unhappy about that. I am still giving it 5 stars because it works, but people should know they may get a returned unit.
BTW, for anyone using 4K monitors with apple computers - there were some issues with the displays not looking good when set to 2560x1440 (the same as a 27" retina 5K monitor) but at least with the new macmini and the newest OS, it works great in that mode. I tested this in the past and you had to set the monitor to 1920x1080 to not get weird aliasing etc.. so people thought 4k monitors not good for macs. At least with this dongle and the new mac, it is perfectly fine although maybe reduce the monitor sharpness setting a tiny bit because the scaling is 1.5x as opposed to 2x for a 5k retina mac screen. No aliasing visible in this setup.
