About the author

Claire writes steamy contemporary romance novels that blend heart-pounding passion with deep emotion, creating stories where love is hard-fought, hearts get bruised, but the happily ever after is worth every tear and triumph.
Claire’s novels are more than entertainment—they're an escape into worlds where desire sizzles, emotions run deep, and every kiss has the power to heal old wounds. She believes in love that transforms, passion that endures, and happy endings that feel absolutely earned.
Claire lives north of Denver with her husband, Eugene, their golden retriever Jack, and Jack's little sidekick, Norma, a Siamese cat. When she's not at her desk plotting new stories for her readers, she likes to spend time hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, or zipping around town on her e-bike.
Come join Claire and get lost in stories where love doesn't just conquer all—it changes everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart warming
Verified PurchaseTwo souls missing one person for her the father she loved so much. For him his very best friend that he hadn't seen in years. He comes back to pay his respects and find she has lost everything to the calculating step mother the hotel he help his friend build and the only home she had ever known. Then attraction hit them both, surprise pregnancy and the truth behind her fathers death. Wonderful story, great characters. A true Claire Kirby story at its best!! I highly recommend!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stand by your love
Verified PurchaseLucas comes into town to pay his belated respects only to fall in love with the daughter of his best friend. But why does step mom hate her so much, how did her dad really die? Such a great story, kept me turning the pages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dive in and enjoy
Verified PurchaseEmma and Lucas have chemistry that is off the charts. Even though it's an age gap romance it doesn't feel that way. Lucas is very young at heart. This book has great characters, even an evil stepmother. Spicy romance with a great plot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read, if you can get past editing mistakes.
Verified PurchaseI absolutely LOVED the story. However the editing needs some work. 😔
First off their eye color changes. Lucas starts off with Hazel eyes then suddenly they're Blue? 🤔
Emma starts off with Amber eyes that her stepmother calls muddy something, then they're Green for a time in the middle, then they're Brown for the end of the book.
There is also a few moments where the names aren't correct. Like when Emma meets Lucas and says his name "Clarke Bennet", Clarke being her father's name.
Then there were a couple of times where Jackie was mentioned when it's clear the person being referenced was Frances.
And there was a spot or two when the narrative went from first person to third person, as if the POV changed in that one sentence.
These things kept taking me out of the story. The inconsistencies were frustrating as well as the repetition of actions or the adding of words that don't make grammatical sense, and even the absence of words that pose a grammatical issue.
There were a couple of other things that didn't seem realistic, especially with the triplets, but not knowing the scientific possibility of it I cannot fully comment on that.
These are the only things causing me to give less than a 5 star rating. Because I genuinely LOVED the story. I just would have LOVED it to have been better edited.
Also there was a missed plot point opportunity with the father's will. But I understand that as an author we simply write the story the characters give us. We aren't always in control of the plots and narrative.
Even with the editing issues I listed, I still highly recommend reading this book.
The story alone is worth it. 🩷😁
