    A number of new and expensive trees were planted, and as with most of these it is important to keep them well watered in the first two years or so. There are a number of different brands, but reviews suggest that the rate of water release with some of them left something to be desired. In this case, they worked perfectly, releasing their full load over say half a day. Interesting to note that the gardeners which maintain a large number of recently planted trees nearby have used this brand. Possibly more expensive that some others, but well made and does the job intended. Thoroughly recommended.

    I've had one Treegator watering bag for many years. It has been a reliable way to ensure my tender trees, especially recent transplants, were kept well watered during exceptionally dry summers, as we've had this year in the southern half of our state. So I decided to get two more for a river birch that had been transplanted this past spring. The two Treegators arrived today, and I quickly set them up, filling the two bags with water. Since the river birch has four small trunks that flair upward and outward from the soil, I needed to zipper the two Treegators bags together to get them to fit around the tree. I was shocked when I saw a steady stream of water shooting out from the side of one of the bags. The small holes are supposed to be on the bottoms of the bags in contact with the soil, not on the side creating a fountain stream that sends the water into the air and to the wrong location. I am very disappointed and will be contacting 鶹 about returning the defective bag soon. Before this experience I would have recommended the Treegator product over any of the asian knock-offs. But now I'm not so sure anymore considering the price differences.
    Update: I returned the defective Treegators and got two replacements that were not defective. The new ones are working just fine. I’ve modified my rating to four stars.
