This is a very good tripod - the carbon fibre/alloy construction ensures it is nice and light and perfect for travelling with. The ball head works well and comes with a P38 easy to attach/remove plate for moving back and forth from the tripod.

It comes with a high quality bag too which looks very smart. The tripod goes up to around 1m53cm in height, which is high enough for most tasks. It also can take a very heavy 40kg in weight, which is a huge amount. I can't imagine most photographers will need that amount of weight-bearing, but it goes to show how strong the construction is.

The only drawback for this tripod is the high price. Yes, it's definitely well made and I can't fault the functionality but there are equally well-spec'd tripods out there for less cost. So keep your eyes peels for a deal on this one.

First impressions:
The tripod is in a sturdy carry case with a discreet label and a shoulder carry strap.
The box also included three different socket wrenches and what appear to be random fittings and screws. I'm not sure whether to be scared or impressed. The fittings are in small resealable bags, and if these are important, I will need to find a more stable and permanent storage solution.

Inside the carry case, the tripod is wrapped in plastic.

Removing the plastic, I find a small sticker on the bottom of the ball head that reads "Note: the screw holes at the bottom of the ball head only allow screws with a length of 7.2mm or short to be inserted. Using larger screws may damage the ball head." This is oddly precise. I am beginning to get scared.

Next impressions -- ignore the user manual, and try it…
Leg extension is smooth, simple, and true to the description, a single twist of the hand frees all locks, as it should.
Center column tightening/loosing is via thumbscrew that is undersized, but functional.
Center column is pull up / pull down, no crank needed and no crank provided. Your mileage may vary.
Legs fold out and are a stiff fit to start. They snap into first position easily. Pressing the top button should unlock the leg, but I find that I need to bring the leg back in a bit before it can be depressed, then I can pull the leg to snap into the second (wide) position.
I am happy that this isn't loose and falling apart, but at the start it is very stiff for my use.

The ball head has a single friction cam for both freeing the ball and for rotation. This can be convenient for quick use, but will limit the ability for fine setup.

The head has no level marks, no bubbles, nothing. Leveling the mount is an exercise for the reader.

The ball head has a quick release. For fun, I threw on my manfrotto phone holder on the quick release. There is no thumb screw on the quick release -- there is a screw, and it needed a tool (flathead screwdriver in my case). One connected it was quick, but setup took time and tools.

Reading the manual:

Bring a magnifying glass -- it is all fine print. Really tiny fine print.

The photo overview says this has both rubber pads and trident foot pegs, but I hadn't noticed. Take it back out of the bag. Yes, it looks like the feet are removable but I can't figure out how. Read the manual…."pull out the rubber foot pad" OK, that was incredibly stiff, but it worked.
Instructions for how to replace the ball head with another brand -- good! The ball head is the weakest link in this setup so far.

Other instructions on how to remove the long center column, how to tighten or refit loose legs. This explains the parts. Now I know that I need to keep the parts and I am simultaneously impressed that it comes with parts, and disappointed in the lack of a carrying case for parts.

Overall:
Workable utility tripod. Heft, stable, and easy to use without a bunch of fancy widgets. The ball head is workable, and replaceable. For anyone needing precision setup or interoperability with other platforms, swapping the ball head is a likely option.

This is absolutely rock solid and takes my gripped z8 with 70-200 2.8 with ease, and that's a heavy camera. the legs, whilst thin are stiffer and more solid than my big 40mm carbon-legged tripod of another good brand, I'm really impressed. The F38 quick release and plate system is a joy to use and has a quick and full proof lock on it, the ball head itself has a great locking system too, absolutely no complaints here I'm planning to use it for my astrophotography kit as it's more than up to the job and is really light weight.

Das Falcam TreeRoot Lite Stativ ist vergleichsweise leicht und kompakt, macht aber einen stabilen und verlässlichen Eindruck. Die Beine lassen sich sehr einfach ausfahren, da man den Drehverschluss nicht weit (lediglich ein Drittel) aufdrehen braucht. Dennoch ist der Verschluss vertrauenserweckend. Ich bevorzugte bislang eigentlich eher solche mit Klemmen, das könnte sich mit dem Stativ aber ändern. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass der Aufbau hier schneller gelingt.
Der Kugelkopf ist etwas speziell, da dieser nur über eine einzelne Klemme bedient wird, aber die üblichen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten bietet, also er lässt sich frei ausrichten, über eine Aussparung auch hochkant verwenden und an der Basis ist eine beschriftete Panorama-Skala und man kann ihn entsprechend rundum drehen. Wie funktioniert das mit einer Klemme? Es erfordert etwas Fingerspitzengefühl, denn je nachdem wie weit man diese öffnet, kann man entweder nur drehen oder der Kugelkopf wird komplett freigesetzt. Hat man sich daran gewöhnt, gelingt das Einstellen viel schneller, weil man keine 2-3 einzelne Rädchen mehr bedienen muss, wie bei anderen Kugelköpfen, bei ausreichender Präzision.
Ansonsten ist der Stativkopf nicht Arca Swiss kompatibel, sondern nur mit den Falcam eigenen F38 Schnellwechselplatten kompatibel, eine entsprechende Platte ist dabei. Aus meiner Sicht kein Nachteil, da ich das F38 System über die letzten 1-2 Jahre bereits kennen und lieben gelernt habe. Auch hier ist die Bedienung geradliniger, da man die Platte nicht großartig ausrichten oder in der Halterung festschrauben muss, es ist praktisch ein Klick-System und man kann mit Betätigung eines Knopfes die Verriegelung lösen oder festmachen. Man kann die Kamera mit Schnellwechselplatte einfach seitlich reinschieben und sie sitzt direkt fest und sicher. Zum Entfernen braucht den Knopf nur kurz gedrückt halten und kann die Kamera direkt wieder entfernen. Man kann den Knopf der Halterung auch zur Seite schieben und somit sperren.
Ich habe mittlerweile alle meine Stative, Tischstative, aber auch Gimbals mit den F38 Halterungen ausgestattet und möchte sie nicht mehr missen. Schneller und bequemer geht ein Schnellwechselsystem nicht.
Ansonsten gefallen mir bei dem Stativ auch die zwei 1/4" Montagepunkte unterhalb des Kugelkopfes, die sogar mit Arretierungslöchern ausgestattet sind. So kann man schnell und sicher Zubehör wie einen Magic Arm zur Montage eines Monitors oder eine Halterung für eine Powerbank oder ähnliches montieren. Das sollte es bei jedem Stativ geben!
Davon abgesehen sind die weiteren Funktionen ebenso gut, aber weniger besonders. Mit der Mittelsäule lässt sich eine gute Arbeitshöhe erzielen, man kann diese auch drehen, um die Kamera bodennah zu verwenden, die Beine lassen sich in verschiedenen Winkeln einrasten etc. Alles gut. Schön ist auch die mitgelieferte Tasche.
Negatives habe ich nicht zu berichten. Es ist wirklich ein solides Stativ und trotz "Lite" mit allen gängigen Systemkameras und Objektivkombinationen nutzbar (laut Angabe bis 3kg). Ich habe vor allem eine Canon R5m2 mit diversen Objektiven (bspw. RF 24-70mm F2.8L) im Einsatz und das Stativ dafür soweit für gut befunden. Wird wahrscheinlich sogar mein Standardstativ werden und ich habe eigentlich schon sehr gute von Peak Design, Freewell und SmallRig (allesamt vergleichsweise teuer oder sogar wesentlich drüber). Handhabung und Eigenschaften sind einfach top. Insofern würde ich es auch hundertprozentig weiterempfehlen.
