Im a huge fan of soundwave and my friend gave me that.
Cost : 2/5
Let me just say that 2 sheet of metal like that cut on a laser table wich take around 2 minutes to cut maybe 3 max cost 2-3$ TOP. Packing is extremly small so shipping is extremly cheap. So why ask 25$ for so little specially with the crappy instruction.
Manual : 3/5
Soundwave have I'll say one part thats kinda misleading in the guide, you literally have a missing part in the step. What I mean they show you a side all flat with nothing in the guide when in reality your piece should be face to you with 4 spikes pointing toward you. Now lets talk about Laserbeak, Holy crap multiples sections of the guide are confusing and not easy to follow at all. Its seem they combine like 3-4 step in one making it very confusing some time. Its like if they say "ok guys lets put all the info on 2 page max, so lets combine some step of laser beak and make it extremly confusing. Also Laserbeak weapon are mounted backward ... yeap your bird now shoot laser from its butt ... Obviously a "real fan" made this modele and it was "obviously" quality control. (check the photo, youll see the weapon are backward"
Assemb. quality: 2/5
Equip yourself with 3 different tweeter eyebrow with 4 different pencils to make your different cylender and dotn do like me, even tho you should be able to remove the part from the sheet without damaging it ... yeah right. Some piece and much harder to remove to a point the attach that should break and release your piece is stronger than the piece itself so you end up damaging your piece ... and you get nail clipper to cut them of instead. If you make a mistake or bind somethign a little to much, it break because most section you bend are extremly weak to allow you an easy bending but also if you make a mistake and want to bend back, SUPRISE it offen break.
End result : 3/5
It beautiful ... but I hope you enjoy having laserbeak with his weapon pointing backward because I cut one star for that. I pay for a replica of a G1 and laserbeak doesnt shoot laser from it butt.
Fun factor: 2/5
If it wasnt of that terrible guide, I would have enjoy it a lot because I like doing that kinda stuff. Patience is a must but I got mad not on soundwave but that guide ... what a piece of @#$@!.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 29, 2021Verified PurchaseBuilt plastic car models in my youth but it's been a long time. Came across these metal types and thought they looked good. Not having to paint or glue is very appealing. Wasn't exactly sure what I was expecting when I ordered. Came in a flat package, pretty small, I thought at first, thought I got wrong product at first. Once I looked into the package it quickly became clear I was wrong. The model came similar to the old plastic types with the pieces having to be cut from the molded sheets. Once cut you fit them together will tabs through holes and then bend the tabs to lock in place. The level of detail is outstanding, all laser etched. A couple of things I fell people would want to know though. You will need a pair of small wire cutters and needle nose pliers. Edges are pretty sharp so care is needed to avoid small cuts. PATIENCE is required. I can't stress this enough. The models are small (see description) so the parts are fidly and can break if you rush. Finished product are absolutly stunning, they just take a lot of time to get there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Statue Big Impression
Verified PurchaseAmazingly detailed for such a tiny toy! My husband spent several nights putting this together and had a great time doing so. The finished product is really a tiny marvel to behold with tons of meticulous detail. Probably not as good for children as it requires a lot of work and patience to assemble and has countless tiny, tiny parts. But for the adult collector it's fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool model. Will buy again.
Verified PurchaseThis is my 2nd Metal Earth model. I spent 8-10 hours on it from start to completion. Like the other reviewers say, you need flush precision cutting pliers, long nose pliers, and some basic tools such as a a shaft of a screw driver or punch to mend and bend your metal to a cylinder - (cylindrical parts such as the mounted gun pictured on this model). I broke a couple pieces which luckily the set had extras.
I also bought Optimus Prime, I will start on that soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for the Faint of Heart
Verified PurchaseHaving gone through the tussle and toil of assembling this little, metal Soundwave for days on end, I'm pretty satisfied with the final result of my efforts which resulted in a pretty stand out Trasnformer statue. That being said, you must be extra careful not to bend certain, tiny panels too much or they will snap on you. Every little detail you see are metal pieces that YOU have to bend and secure, including the tiny buttons that are barely bigger than a grain of rice. If you have the patience, dexterity, and tools at hand to assemble this statue, then I say you should go ahead and try. If not? You may find yourself in a very frustrating position because this set seems to be made for modelers with experience on how Metal Earth models work as opposed to the average person, let alone the average kid.
