I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this guy. So much so he motivated me to hunt down more from Cyberworld and give the line another shot. I'm a lifelong transformers fan and was originally ready to pass on this line. Until I saw reviews of this Grimlock and decided to take a chance. GLAD I DID. He's great! Solid and durable in a way that reminds me of the old Rescue Bots. He's got lots of different play features from being a GIANT Grimlock to interact with the rest of the line to having parts that turn him into a walking fortress for the other figures in the line. Really impressed with this one and it's completely turned my opinion on the line. It's a great value for the asking price. I look forward to seeing what Cyberworld has in store for more classic characters and adding to the adventures.

This one has been in constant rotation since it arrived. Feels sturdy and moves well without getting stuck or floppy. Both modes work as expected, and the transitions are easy to handle without anything feeling fragile. It’s already taken a few knocks and hasn’t shown signs of wear. Kids tend to get rough with things, but this one's held up. It’s kept them busy and encourages a bit of imagination rather than just watching a screen. The moving parts add to the fun without needing constant help from an adult. Setup was quick — barely needed to explain anything. It’s been handled daily and still looks and works like it did on day one.

This toy is quite large for its relatively low asking price and has a lot of play features that I think a child would enjoy. It's also built like a tank and could definitely withstand rough play. While it is essentially a playset for other figures that won't be out for maybe another month or so from when I write this, it is extremely fun on its own and I highly recommend it to both adult collectors and parents alike. It's both a good display and fiddle piece as well as a fantastic toy for children!

I may be showing my age, but I've been a fan of Transformers since its first airing on TV.

I've had a lot of the toys and some of them are really complicated to transform. I'm talking 50+ steps and the possibility of a piece snapping (especially on the older toys).

My son loves the show, both older episodes and the newer stuff, and I've been getting him a few toys. He eyes up my old ones in the display case, but they are too delicate to play with. They have now become collector's pieces rather than toys, which can be disappointing for kids.

Anyway, back to this Grimlock. He is a quality toy. He looks cool and is fun to play with. He transforms in a few simple steps, so even a child can do it without effort, which makes him more enjoyable. He's not super fragile like some of the older models and that's great for kids.

Unfortunately, this has set off my nostalgia and I'm in the process of acquiring the other Transformer CYBERWORLD toys. The preorder Scorponok is on my shopping list and will be a Christmas present for my boy (and maybe myself). It's being released in September this year.

So yes, it's a great toy. But be prepared to get hooked into the Transformers universe again.
