I have tried so many thoroughly awful root beer syrups that I was about to give up until I decided to give it one more try with Torani. This is the stuff. I absolutely love this root beer syrup and have almost finished my first bottle in less than a month! It's not that it doesn't last long; it's just so good, that I drink it all the time. :)

There don't seem to be any directions in terms of how much to use (there's a big sticker that covers part of the bottle, so it may be under there), so I poured in the same amount I do for another brand's cola syrup at first. However, as other reviewers have noted, you do need quite a bit to get that sassafras bite.

UPDATE: I got an ice cream machine for Christmas (and I love it!), and I thought it would be fun to make rootbeer floats. The only rootbeer that is ever under this roof is Torani's, so it was a no-brainer that I would make a batch of vanilla ice cream and a batch of Torani rootbeer. The two together? Bliss.

So blissful, that I thought, "why not just put the syrup IN THE ice cream?" So the next time I made ice cream (erm, okay, the very next day!), I did just that, and I have to tell you that it was beyond bliss delicious. Root beer ice cream? Who would have thunk it? I added three tablespoons (taking three tablespoons of light cream out of the vanilla ice cream recipe to balance the liquids), and it was delicious! It's not a "float," of course, but the flavors are perfect! Try it!

This stuff has a really really, super duper, fabulishious root beer flavor!!! Keep in mind, it isn't the fake A&W/Barq's root beer flavor, this stuff taste like actual in-a-barrel-in-the-cellar root beer! But it's totally good! Another thing to note, a little does NOT go a long way. . . More like 'a lot goes a short way'... It does take quite a lot of syrup to make a significant amount, enough to enjoy it anyways... 2 tablespoons per ounce to be exact, to put that into perspective, if you want a regular 20 ounce bottle of this stuff, you have to add 40 tablespoons, yeah FORTY TABLESPOONS!!!! Holy cow is that a lot!! But it's totally worth it, trust me, True Believer, this stuff IS worth it! Buy it, you won't regret it!!
