These dual brush pens have a versatile and flexible nylon fiber brush tip on 1 end that creates medium or bold strokes by simply changing brush pressure. The fine tip on the other end is for smooth straight lines or writing. The resilient nylon brush retains its point, stroke after stroke. The ink is water-based and blendable: use 2 colors together, or use the colorless blender pen. The pen tips self-clean after blending so there is no messy clean-up!     I bought these Tombow dual tip markers on the advice of Ian Fennelly, an artist who specializes in urban sketching. You can do your drawing in pencil, ink it with pigment liners, add tone with the brush markers and then add colour with watercolour. Although there are two tips, I only use the brush tip.

    Although they are not blending as I had hoped it may be because I have to practice more. This is a new medium to me and I have watched videos on it and the artist in the video was able to blend. I found so far you have to be careful when adding water to the area you have used the blender on it starts to lift the paper and you get bits of paper in your painting.
