First look: The Toy School Bus came bubble-wrapped inside a box (28.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 11.3 cm). The lights & sounds require three 1.5 volt AG-13 (LR44) button batteries that are already installed, just pull out the tab.

Operation & testing: The school bus has four buttons on the top: the red one has the start-up sound and engine noises, and the green one goes back and forth from backup noises to honking, but I'm not sure what the yellow and blue sounds are supposed to be. When the buttons are pressed and the sound is on, there are blue, red, and green lights on the ceiling inside the bus that flash.
The stop sign can be pulled out 90°, but is at the back of the bus, not the usual spot by the driver's window. The back door opens with a latch, and the front door opens by sliding the bar near it.

The wheels are attached to a flywheel so when you push it forward it will continue forward, and when you push it back, it will continue backwards. What looks like red lights on the top don't light up.

Opinion: I would prefer the flashing lights and sound be independent of each other so the lights could be flashing all the time, rather than just the few seconds the sound is on. I'm not sure how long this toy will last with a toddler but it will be fun for a few minutes. It does have parts that could easily be pulled off though, so I wouldn't recommend it for children under 3yrs old.
This would also be a nice gift for a bus driver or one who is retiring/retired.

This school bus toy has been a big hit with my toddler and it’s held up really well through lots of play. It lights up and plays music which keeps them entertained and engaged and the buttons are easy enough for little hands to figure out on their own. The quality is better than I expected for a toy like this and it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap. It’s been dropped, rolled, and tossed around a fair bit and still works just fine. Lights flash, sounds play, doors open, and it rolls forward or back after a push. Buttons are easy to press, though some sounds are kind of random. It comes with batteries already installed—just pull the tab. The stop sign’s oddly placed at the back, and a few pieces could come off if tugged too hard. My main gripe: lights and sound can’t be used separately. Still, it’s bright, lively, and holds a toddler’s attention. Just maybe keep it away from kids under three.
