Not Pure Titanium, Misleading Thickness, and Dulls Knives – Not a suitable Cutting Board

- Reviewed in Canada on June 13, 2025Verified Purchaseservice was excellent and product top of the line.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 29, 2025Verified PurchaseThis Titanium cutting board is a very healthy addition to my kitchen utensils. Now I am protected from microplastics contamination from using plastic cutting boards and from bacteria, fungus and molds mixing in my food from wooden cutting boards. This Titanium cutting board is easy to cut all kinds of raw food , vegetables, fruits and meat on either side and cleaning it is a breeze with some hand dish washing soap and warm water.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 2, 2025Verified PurchaseI recently purchased the alleged titanium cutting board. When it arrived, it certainly looked good. After a few uses, the surface of the cutting board started to come off, exposing what looked very much like stainless steel instead of titanium. The covering is extremely thin and peeling off. The covering mimics, the look of pure titanium. I’m very skeptical that this cutting board is made from real titanium. It appears to be stainless steel underneath a very, very thin layer of, what appears to be,fake titanium. I must say, I feel disappointed with the purchase. I’m also concerned with what the cutting board will do to my knives.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 9, 2025Verified PurchaseReview (2 Stars ⭐⭐)
I bought this expecting a pure titanium cutting board that would be corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and knife-friendly. While it is corrosion-resistant and develops a blue oxide layer when heated (a signature trait of titanium), it is not pure titanium as claimed.
Misleading Material & Weight
The product listing strongly suggests this is 100% titanium, but my weight and density calculations prove otherwise. The listing also claims 2 mm thickness, but my caliper measurement shows 1.0 mm ± 0.01 mm.
Based on these actual dimensions, if this were pure titanium, it should weigh around 540-550 g. Instead, mine weighs 700 g, meaning it has a higher density than titanium alone. The best match for this weight is a titanium-nickel alloy (likely Nitinol, 6.45 g/cm³) rather than pure titanium (4.51 g/cm³).
While titanium-nickel alloys are still corrosion-resistant and durable, they are much harder than pure titanium and not ideal for cutting surfaces.
Major Issue – Dulls Knives Very Quickly
The biggest problem is how hard this surface is. I tested it with a chef’s knife, slicing just 10 pieces of pepperoni, and the knife visibly dulled.
This is worse than stainless steel for cutting and defeats the purpose of a “titanium cutting board.” If you use quality knives and want to preserve their edges, this board is a terrible choice.
Would This Board Work for Anything Else?
If you need a corrosion-resistant prep surface for tasks other than cutting, it might still have some value. But if you want a functional cutting board that won’t ruin your knives, this is NOT it.
Why 2 Stars?
I considered giving this 1 star, but:
✅ It is still a titanium-based material, likely Nitinol,
Nitinol is a nickel-titanium alloy known for its shape memory effect and superelasticity. Its composition typically falls within the range of:
• Nickel (Ni): 55-60%
• Titanium (Ti): 40-45%
✅ It is highly corrosion-resistant, which may be useful for some applications.
❌ However, it fails at being a cutting board and is misleadingly marketed in terms of thickness and material composition.
⚠ Final Verdict: NOT a suitable titanium cutting board because it is NOT knife-friendly. NOT as advertised.
If you care about your knives, avoid this board.
