Product description

Do you have a flat rod (tie bar) that locks your window or door? These white plastic clips help guide the rod up and down and keep it in place. This hardware is easy to replace. Just unscrew the guides and slip them off the bar forwards. Installation is reverse of removal. This Casement and Awning Window Tie Bar Guide is made of nylon. It is used by several window manufacturers.

Well, it was exactly what was needed to repair a crank operated casement window that had a separate level along the side that opened which pulled in the window to seal it closed and it is a part which I couldn't find at the local Home Depot. Now, I think I did find the one store in town which stocks this kind of product mostly for window installers but it was closed at the time so I just ordered it. However, the estimated delivery time was a week and the delivery costs greatly exceeded the product price but it was packed and fedexed overnight the next day so it only took two days to receive it. However, I have to say that it's tempting to just buy the cheap educational 3d printer and just make these yourself, especially if you wind up ordering these for your whole house instead of going to that one shop in town that has them for sale. These shipped from Edmonton, likely from the one window and glass store in that city that sold them.

Worse thing about doing the repair was the fear of dropping the screw or the screwdriver out of the second story window while standing on a stool (maybe kit a magnetic screwdriver or a screw starter tool).
