Bring your life
Whether it's exploring the spectacular nature of the great outdoors or traveling the world with family and friends, we all have a passion for enjoying an active life.
At Thule, we share your desire to spend more time enjoying your passions - which means less time worrying about how to bring all the stuff we need. For more than 75 years, Thule has been creating solutions to simplify life's adventures. Our focus has been on developing smart, stylish products that are sound, high quality, safe, and easy to use.
Whatever your passion, whatever your pursuit. Wherever you're going, whatever you're bringing. With Thule you're free to live your active life to the fullest.

Quality you can rely on
We’ll never know what adventures you’ll be taking your equipment on. That’s why we develop our products to manage any weather, any temperature, and any terrain in the whole world. We’ve come to the conclusion that nothing else will do. Every new product is put through temperatures of icy northern cold and burning desert heat, long sessions of intensive UV radiation, a salt chamber for corrosion endurance, several pressure and capacity tests – and finally a machine that shakes it for a lifetime’s worth, simulating two trips around the world in less than a week. Yes, the Thule Test Center is kind of brutal. But that’s the way the world is. And since we only give the sign of approval to products that have had the whole world against them (and survived it), it’s no wonder we’re international leaders in safety and durability – or that we even exceed the standards.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2023Verified PurchaseContrary to the item description, there are x2 loop straps in the package. I purchased x2 because description said only one loop strap. Once packaged arrive I received x2 packs, with x2 straps in each package. Guess I’ll have a back up set now.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 3, 2024Verified PurchaseI'm going to send this back. There is next to no material under the ring. It would not take much force to break loose when I need it most.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive for what they are but they do the job
Verified PurchaseMost vehicles today have integrated, painted bumpers with limited areas to use front tie downs for kayaks. We do have tow hooks on ours but we didn’t want straps or ropes rubbing against the paint on our SUV hood. These attached on any support bracket with a screw in it underneath the hood to hold the straps. Our screws were plenty long enough but I have read that others are not.
BEWARE! Depending on the type of tie down straps you use, they can vibrate these straps. The double straps from our Yakima racks vibrated like crazy even with twisting during a 12 hour long trip with high winds and the back wash from many tractor trailers. We had to change to the thin Thule ropes during the trip to avoid the vibration and even with them had to stop once to adjust them. USE 3M PROTECTIVE BODY TAPE ON BOTH SIDES OF YOUR HOOD AND FENDER WHERE THESE STRAPS COME OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD (It’s the same stuff you would have installed for a clear “bra” on your car hood). It is worth the $12-15 bucks to save potential damage to the paint on a high end vehicle. The 3M tape wrinkled a little on the one side from the horrible vibration from the wind but protected the paint. We removed the tape strips after we came home as we usually haul the kayaks in the pickup truck for local trips. Just remember to watch a video on how to install the tape. It has to be wet along with your fingers to install the tape. I know it sounds strange but you squeegee out the water and it sticks without finger prints on the sticky part of the tape. Gotta love 3M.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect anchor point for tying down loads to the front of your vehicle
Verified PurchaseMy wife and I have a 2010 Ford Edge and a very large 2 person kayak. We carry the kayak on the roof of the car and finding good attachment points for the front ropes has been a bit of a challenge.
Initially I used to hook ropes into holes under the front of the car. But, then I had to worry about ropes rubbing on the hood and bumper of the car, and angle to the kayak meant that the ropes were pulling forward on the kayak almost as much as they were pulling down. This made me worry about the kayak a bit.
These loops fix both problems for me. They bring the attachment point further back towards the load and eliminated the rope rubbing. As a bonus they also raise the attachment point up so you don't have to lay on the ground trying to find the right hole to put a hook into.
Installation was easy:
- I opened the hood of the car
- Located a bolt near the front
- Using a socket on my impact driver I removed the bolt
- Then I threaded the bolt through the grommet on the strap and re-secured the bolt into place (make sure the loop hangs out towards the tire)
- Repeated on the other side and I was done
Installation took less than five minutes from the time I opened the hood. When I'm not carrying a load on the hood I just fold the straps in under the hood and close it. When I want to use them I just pop the hood and fold the straps out before closing the hood again. Just that easy.
Tying down my load is now quicker than before, and I feel more secure in knowing I have a better angle to my load so that the direction of force is going to do more to stabilize the load and less to damage my vehicle.
Overall I'm very happy with these straps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for shorter boats on my F150
Verified PurchaseGreat for shorter kayaks on my F150. I used the bolts on my radiator mounts, and they stick out to the side of the hood far enough to for the Thule label to show. I didn't have a good bolt towards the front of the vehicle to mount it there, just the bolts to hold down the headlights, and I didn't want to put any pressure on them.
Before I bought these straps, I had to hook my bow line over the hood/grill, under the air dam, to the frame. This put odd pressure on my air dam, and one time, the line moved to the right and my tire grabbed it, tearing the line. This will not occur with these straps since they mount at hood-level.
I said these are good for SHORT kayaks... I have a 18' kayak, and the bow line actually angles back towards the cab since the bow aligns with the front bumper, maybe a little less. This kind of makes the straps useless since it allows for a lot of slack if my boat (for some reason) slides backwards, which is what the bow line is meant to stop from happening. I will need to find another place to mount these for longer boats, somewhere closer to bumper-level, or closer to the nose of my truck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Overdue Purchase
Verified PurchaseI have a 14' canoe and a 2011 Camry sedan. For many years I have been using straps hooked to eyebolts I had installed under the front end to the frame of the car, a method I had used for my previous 2 sedans. To install these straps I removed 2 bolts that help hold the grill assembly on and replaced them with longer bolts to allow for the thickness of the grommets on the straps. Took about 5 minutes. I paired these loops with a ProGrip 402400 8' x 1/4" XRT Rope Lock Tie Down. I slid a swivel snap hook onto the line to attach to the carrying handle on the end of the canoe. This simple, inexpensive and easy to use tie down system is much better than what I was doing. I no longer have to get down and reach under the car to hook the straps on. These straps tuck right behind the front of the grill assembly and stay clean and out of sight until needed. I have had these for 6 weeks and used them 10 - 12 times. I highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great in a pinch if you don't have other options.
Verified PurchaseI have a Chevy Traverse that has zero capacity to tie loads down in the front and back (which I discovered when setting up the car to carry kayaks). These attached easily to an exposed bolt holding the outer fender on and do not appear to be causing any wear to the edge of the hood where they stick out (when carrying a load - they fold under the hood when not in use). While not my first choice for a tie down location, I don't have a better solution and these easily get the job done. Unfortunately, the Traverse does not have anywhere that I have found to use these in the back so I am using Sherpak Quick Loops in the back hatch, which while again not ideal, work great for my situation.
