- Reviewed in Canada on August 10, 2024Verified PurchaseInternal rubber bands that centre the wheel wore out after only one month of use. I wouldn't say I was particularly hard on the product, though my playing periods and regularity are likely longer and more frequent than average. Anecdotally others on line have reported the same issue occurring after six months, though I was not so lucky.

- Reviewed in Canada on October 18, 2018Verified PurchaseLove it so far. As long as you calibrate it, everything works really nicely. However my lap times are actually slower using the wheel than with the controller. Oh well practice makes perfect!
- Reviewed in Canada on June 1, 2015Verified PurchaseThis wheel isn't as fancy as the more expensive ones but it work great just with it had force feedback but for the money it's excellent!!
- Reviewed in Canada on November 5, 2015The Thrustmaster T80 is a decent wheel for what it is, but it could use some work.
On the PlayStation 4, this is a pretty good wheel. Sure, you don't get force feedback and you're limited to 270 degrees of rotation, but the bungee cord inside the wheel is nice and stiff, which works well for a non-force feedback wheel. The rim is a bit small, however, and the paddle shifters are a bit too short for my liking, but I do like the feel of the rubber grip on the rim. The pedals are not the best; they have decent resistance, but the brake is a bit too soft and the pedal base itself doesn't have enough weight to it to hold still. You need to hard-mount, velcro down or press the pedal base against a solid object to prevent it from tipping forward.
The only game I tested this with on the PlayStation 4 is F1 2015, which needs some tweaking because, out of the box, the T80 is MASSIVELY oversensitive. After some adjustments in the advanced wheel settings, it works very nicely.
Where the T80 falls flat on its face is with PlayStation 3 games. This wheel is seen as if it were a DualShock 3 or something like that, and some games like F1 Championship Edition can't have manual gear shifting mapped to the paddle shifters at all! It makes for a very awkward experience if racing with a manual transmission. What's worse still is that because the wheel is not seen as an actual wheel, you lose a lot of precision in your steering. Going full lock, you can see it is not instantaneously following your hand movements, and it's even worse when going full lock one side, then full lock the other. To make things even worse, the T80 has three sensitivity settings for the PlayStation 3, which are indicated by the power LED under the PlayStation logo. Red is the default, which is the lowest sensitivity setting and results in massive deadzone on all games. Orange is the next step up, which is more sensitive, but still has a deadzone. Green is the highest sensitivity setting and this one has very poor precision because what the T80 actually does when you increase sensitivity is it actually skips part of the range of motion on a DualShock 3's analog stick! If you were to use the T80 on a PC and try these sensitivity settings in Windows' game controller properties, you will notice this.
In short, if you want a cheap, decent steering wheel for the PlayStation 4, the T80 is a good option, but if you want a wheel for the PlayStation 3 as well, look elsewhere because the T80 performs very poorly on the PlayStation 3. If you want a Thrustmaster wheel without spending $400 that is PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4-compatible, you might want to consider the T150.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was labeled like new, and they were right
Verified PurchasePurchased this wheel used with 鶹 warehouse. It was labeled like new, and they were right, no signs of use at all not a scratch not even on the pedals. So I guess I lucked out. Works right out of the box on my PS3. Purchased this for my PS3 while planning to purchase a PS4 in the near future, it's nice with no need to update my wheel once I make the switch. I've done my research with all the available wheels in the market at the moment. For me, at $69, this was the most practical and sensible option compare to the much more expensive options. I was willing to sacrifice a clutch pedal, H shifter and FFB to save a hundred bucks or so. Especially since I'm not even sure this is something I would invest time on.
The wheel itself is very nicely built. Few creaks here and there being made out of plastic. The wheel itself is pretty small, got used to it after a while though so it doesn't bother me as much. Pedals offer sufficient resistance. Shifters give off a satisfying "click". Played it on GT5 and GT6 so far, sensitivity is fine after a few googling to get everything set up. Right now, I have it mounted on the folding table, but I plan on constructing a dedicated stand for it. Really need one especially for the pedals which keeps on slipping even on carpet. I find the bungee cord system to offer enough resistance, but definitely no where near what a FFB would offer as far as realism is concerned.
Overall, a good purchase at $69 with free shipping. If I invest more time in sim racing, will definitely upgrade to perhaps a T150. And it wouldn't hurt too much to part with this one. But if you're on the fence dishing out any money, this T80 is a good way to try out racing wheels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Volante básico para PS4
