I really like these lights. The lights can be used for many applications from camping, mood lighting in backyard or deck, special occasions where you just want to add a bit of intimacy or even during emergencies. You can put them around your home, even hard to reach places and press the remote and they turn on easily. The remote works well, but in my experiences it works only with line-of-sight. I turned a few on and pointed the remote in other direction and it wouldn't work, even around a corner wouldn't work. So it is probably infrared which is not a big deal. It works instantly and without issue, and distance is good too (tested it at maybe 25 feet away.
They do a good job pretending to be real flames flickering, Between the feel of the plastic body and the silicone-like flame head feeling soft and rubbery, I would think these are durable and would survive getting knocked around a bit. Actually I just took one, flung it into the air in my living room and it hit the wood floor and there was zero issues with it. Under normal use I would think these will last a long time.
Overall, I think these lights are great and worth the price. I recommend.
