Product description
The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063) provides outstanding resolution and superb overall performance in a lightweight and compact zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. High definition and spectacular image quality are the key areas of advancements. The Model A063 features a redesigned optical system but maintains a size similar to its predecessor. The lens provides exceptionally strong optical performance, edge-to-edge across the frame, throughout the entire zoom range, along with the soft, beautiful bokeh effects that are distinctive to fast aperture lenses. The lens features Tamron’s VXD autofocus motor to enable high speed, high precision auto-focusing. Closeup shooting capabilities have also been improved and achieve an MOD of 7.1” at 28mm and a maximum image magnification ratio of 1:2.7. It is equipped with new, groundbreaking features that enable users to easily perform customization and firmware updates themselves, without purchasing the Tamron TAP-in Console.* For example, users can reverse the direction of the focus ring for manual focus operation. Additionally, Tamron has adopted a new design with improved ergonomics and revised the exterior coating of the lens body to improve scratch resistance. The filter size is 67mm, which is standard among Tamron's fast aperture zoom lens series and enables the sharing of lens caps, filters, and other accessories. In addition to features such as Moisture-Resistant Construction and a protective Fluorine Coating, the lens supports various features built into Sony E-Mount cameras, including Fast Hybrid AF, Eye AF and in-camera lens corrections (shading, chromatic aberration, distortion).

- Reviewed in Canada on January 18, 2024Verified PurchaseLet me start by saying, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 has become an absolute game-charger for my photography journey. This lens has a personality of its own, and I couldn't be happier with the results it delivers.
Pros:
- Versatility: cover the common focal lengths for various shooting scenarios
- Low Light: Amazing lowlight ability even in challenging lighting conditions
- Build quality: Plastic does not feel cheap.
- AF: Fast and accurate, reliable for nearly all types of situations
Cons:
- Zoom range limitation: cannot provide not telephoto or wide angle shots
- No Image Stabilization: lack of built-in stabilization may be a drawback for those without IBIS
----------------
Additional thoughts:
The 28-75mm focal length is like a swiss army knife - perfect for everything from landscape to intimate portraits. It's become my go-to lens for everyday shooting, eliminating the need to constantly switch between different primes. It strikes a perfect balance between durability and portability, making it an ideal companion for my travels.
If you are in the market for a lens that delivers exceptional results without breaking the bank, the Tamron 28-75 should deserve a prime spot in your camera back. Highly recommended!

- Reviewed in Canada on January 8, 2025Verified PurchaseI was coming from the Sony kit lens and this is very sharp and also made me realize how cold and sterile the images coming from the kit lens were. The autofocus performance is a bit iffy but it's not bad really. Came with the latest firmware which is nice but I do really wish it was a 24-70 instead of 28-75, that 4mm really does make a difference on that end of things.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 28, 2024Verified Purchasegreat lens, and I was surprised on how tight the weather seal is. Lots of people said I should get the 24-70 sigma, but I like this one cause its lighter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfektes Reiseobjektiv mit sehr guten Leistungen
