I bought this for use in my garage woodshop. I wanted items that could deal with a significant accident with a router or table saw (think amputation) until an ambulance arrived. I don't need a first aid kit with bandaids, aspirin, etc as those are readily accessible inside my house. I needed a kit that a lone person could use to stop major bleeding until help arrives, and this fits the bill nicely.
I did unwrap the tourniquet and have it ready to use. I also put a pair of scissors, a plastic bag and cold packs, and a knife into the plastic flip-top box the kit is stored in. So this is a "hope to never use" crash kit for a woodshop.

I hope to never have to use this device, but this Israeli bandage is an important part of my first aid kit. It’s a versatile device that can be used to wrap and apply pressure to wounds, including using it as a tourniquet to slow and/or stop bleeding from traumatic hemorrhage wounds. It can be used as a component for splinting fractured limbs and for immobilizing victims with spinal injuries. It’s easy to use if you know how to use it – if you don’t, it’s worth watching a few videos to understand the principle, or even better, taking a first aid class that includes training on how to use this type of device. This specific kit is well made. It’s a smaller size (very portable), but it can be adjusted to varying sizes. It includes two dressing packages that are sealed so that they will remain clean and ready for use. The outer bandage components are washable and reusable. I highly recommend this for everyone, with the caveat that you must learn how to use it. It’s not as simple as applying a band aid, but the principle is very easy to learn, and when used correctly, it can save a life.
