There is really a crazy variance on the cost of these rc cars. I think the price range for this one is quite reasonable. You get a heavy duty chassis with interchangeable body shells, allowing you to customize your vehicle, or at the very least giving you a back up for when inevitable wear and tear occurs. If you were trying to race competitively, maybe you would want more power, but for ripping around at the campground and bombing snowbanks (which I look forward to trying this winter), this little beast has enough speed for me. I have never tracked it, so can’t say how fast it really goes. I really love that it has a spare battery so you can charge one while using the other to extend play time. It didn’t come with batteries for the remote though, so it’s not straight out of the box ready. You also have to install the battery in the rc, which wasn’t as string forward as I had expected, and I needed the instructions. I don’t think I did get the shell back on quite right in end, and wish there were more blatant instructions for that. Companies these days assume too much of the customer, I’d rather be insulted by over instruction then confused by too little!
