About this item
- Reliable Long-Range Connections: The Tapo Hub operates on a lower frequency broadband, resulting in fewer signal interferences and ensuring stable connectivity for all your devices throughout your home. With a maximum connection distance of up to 30m, the Tapo Hub outperforms wireless network systems in the 2.4 GHz band. Our internal laboratory tests confirm the coverage and range of the Tapo Hub, but keep in mind that actual results may vary depending on environmental conditions.
- A Low-Power Way to Connect Everything- The Tapo Hub serves as the central hub for your Tapo smart home, linking smart sensors, switches, and buttons via an ultra-low power wireless protocol. This technology extends the battery life of devices by up to 10 times, in contrast to devices powered by the Wi-Fi protocol.
- Smart Action- With Tapo Smart Hub H100, you can trigger a Shortcut or control Tapo devices (such as smart plugs, smart lights and smart switches) based on sensor detection or with a button press. (Tapo H100 cannot directly connect to Tapo smart plugs or smart lighting, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is required.)
- All Devices in One Hub- Each Tapo Hub can connect up to 64 Tapo devices throughout your home. Build and manage your smart home ecosystem with ease.
- Protect Your Home Day and Night- By integrating with Tapo motion sensors, door/window sensors, and other devices, the Tapo Hub can activate a high-decibel siren (up to 90 dB) to alert of potential hazards or discourage intruders.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 9, 2024Verified PurchaseAdded the Tapo smart hub to my home to control my Tapo door sensors.
Installation took 5 minutes. It was so simple.
I created an automation so that I can "arm" my house when away. If the door sensor goes off the hub emits a siren sound to deter theft. My only gripe is that I wish the speaker on the hub was a bit louder, but it does the trick for my needs.
Tapo is the best. Get this!
- Reviewed in Canada on December 28, 2024Verified PurchaseIt works with Home Assistant!
- Reviewed in Canada on August 24, 2024Verified PurchaseI bought it for door sensors, they work well, just as described.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 1, 2024Verified PurchaseI had envisioned this to be a lot bigger. Smaller than a packet of smokes.
Easy to set, although the speaker isn’t very loud if you wanted to use as a security alarm.
After using this for a few days, with 10 door/window contacts that programmed to chime when doors open, it integrates with Apple home kit quite well, although you it’s not really obvious when doors are open in their app layout, you can ask Siri what their status is.
I’ve also created shortcuts to active the siren on the hub and two inside TAPO cameras I have. Annoyingly, you can silence the hub alarm right away, but the cameras have to finish their preset period.
If you want to share it with members of the family to turn the alarm on and off it’s a bit awkward, as you have to have them log in with your TAPO credentials, and there’s no obvious way to know if the system is armed or not.
The hub sounder on its own, it’s just not loud enough, you can’t hear it from downstairs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to setup with Tapo phone app and connect a sensor.
Verified PurchaseUsed Tapo phone app to setup the hub and to connect to a Tapo Temperature and Humidity sensor. We have the sensor in our bedroom and initially also put the hub in the bedroom. It is too bright for that. The LED is bright enough to bother us at night.
I have used other IOT phone apps. I am familiar with these types of apps. The Tapo phone app is good and easy to use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works, but not for freezers since alerts only go to -4°F
Verified PurchaseIf this would allow you to set the Alert range (what they call the Comfort Zone) down to -20°F, or disable low temperature alerts, then I would give this a 5-star review since I already have Tapo (TP-Link) home automation products. But since they have it set to only a minimum of -4°F, when a freezer goes below this (which they do) you will receive push notifications about the low temperature. I only want to know when the temperature is above 26°F, but there is no way to disable the alerts for exceeding the low temperature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy setup. Clear instructions.
Verified PurchaseI bought 2 TP-Link Tapo Smart Water Leak Detector and the, required, TP-Link Smart Hub Tapo H-100. Setup couldn't be easier. To test the leak detectors, pull the battery tab and place it under a dripping faucet - be ready, it will be loud. Both the detectors and hub come with clear, easy to understand instruction booklets. I placed one detector in my basement, near the water heater, and the other in the guest bath/laundry room. I'll probably get two more for the kitchen sink and master bath.
Testing: Placing the detector in a shallow plate with water it blasted as loud as a smoke detector. My phone also got notifications for "Water Leak Detected" and, when I removed it from the water, "Water Leak Solved".
Tapo H-100 Smart Hub setup: Install the Tapo app. Plug the hub into a wall outlet (I chose a central location). The app will discover the Hub, set up a temporary direct wi-fi connection to your phone, then will connect to your home wireless wi-fi (you will need the wi-fi password). That's it.
Tapo Leak Detector setup: Remove the battery tab, hold the setup button a couple of seconds until the light comes on and that's it. The app on your phone will now see this detector. I re-named mine "Water Heater" and "Laundry".

5.0 out of 5 stars Tu casa más inteligente (y sonora): Probando el TP-Link Tapo H100
