Recently replaced a very old Linksys router (which I loved) with a TP-Link WiFi 6 router in the hopes of addressing an issue with my iPad Pro constantly losing WiFi signal in a bedroom which is the farthest room away from the office where the router lives.
While the new router was fast and strong enough to get signal to most of the devices in the house, for some reason the iPad would still constantly be interrupted and drop signal.
Purhcased this refurbished TP-Link AC1750 WiFi extender in the hopes that putting it in an area where I had stronger WiFi would solve the problem.

BOY DID IT EVER.

Not only did this extender allow me to keep the devices all connected to the same SSID (I didn't like the idea of having to hop to different SSID's depending on where I was in the house) but the WiFi signal was full bars and very strong with the iPad in the room I needed it and the throughput even with my VPN was 90+MBPS down in 7+MBPS up. More than enough for what I need.

Installation and configuration was an absolute BREEZE. I am well versed in router and home level network administration but even without that experience I have no doubt that with the included Quick Start guide that anyone would be able to figure this out. As long as you know your current WiFi password and SSID (network / router name) you will have no problem.

My only regret is that I didn't make this purchase way sooner since I would have saved myself so many nights of frustration trying to keep a stable connection on my iPad when I'm using it in the bedroom.

If you need a WiFi extender, buy it. You won't regret it and saving some money on refurbished which comes with the same warranty and return policies is a no brainer.

I'm connecting 2 hardwired gigabit LANs together through a clear 5GHz WiFi band with this. I disabled the Extended Network WiFi so it's only a WiFi bridge to my main TP-Link Archer C1200 router. My main router is about 30 feet away through 3 or 4 walls in a straight line and the signal quality status states my connection as 'Strong'. My pings to the RE450 through the WiFi is about 1 to 3ms.

My Archer C1200 can transmit about 500Mbit to the RE450, and the RE450 can transmit about 300Mbit to my router. Visible in the 1st attached photo you can see the green is RE450 transmission, and the red is the RE450 reception when I transfer a file to and from computer to computer through the WiFi bridge. I don't know why it transmits slower than my router, but I'm assuming it's because my router has 'beam forming' technology that can focus a signal to where it's needed unlike the RE450 which just broadcasts the signal in all directions.

About 500Mbit reception is acceptable. Because really all I'm trying to accomplish is to get as close as possible to Gigabit hardwired speeds without actually running Cat5 cable. And about half the speed will work for me considering what I had before was maxed out at 90Mbit due to only having 100Mbit hardwired ports.

I do have it on an extension cord raised about 2.5 feet off the floor on a TV stand which does give it better speeds than just plugged directly into my wall only 1 foot from the floor.

I like all the advanced options and even the ability to turn off the WiFi repeater function is perfect for me. I also like that the DHCP server has an Auto option which can disable itself if it finds a DHCP server on your network already.

The 2nd attached photo is the difference between power settings. They call it "Wi-Fi Coverage". The settings are Max, Mid and Min. This did have an affect on transmission speed as visible in the photo.

All in all this does what I expected even though the transmission is a bit slower than the reception. But for me the reception is more important than its transmission for what I bought it for.
