Black Snail Essence from Tosowoong. Comes in an official, sealed box, where the essence/thicker serum is in an easy pump bottle. The bottle is a light plastic type, containing 100 ml of snail secretion filtrate with glycerin humectant as the moisturizing agent to trap moisture in the skin, propolis and hyaluronic acid for moisture. When choosing between glycerin or hyaluronic acid another popular moisture agent, glycerin seems to do a better job at adding and trapping moisture rather than just locking the moisture already present in the skin, and this product has both. Ingredient list looks good, there are lots of moisturizong agents. No added colorants or fragrance or essential oils used, which reduces any possible irritants for sensitive skin. I found the product easy to use on my sensitive, rosacea prone skin. The pump dispenses well, the liquid is see-through, thick and sticky. I tried it both after toning the skin as a step in the thinnest to thickest product application, as well as directly on the skin as a first step and in both cases no irritation and the product absorbed well. I do still find that with dry skin in the winter I need to add a light moisturizer on top and follow up with sunscreen. Great product, not expensive in the world of skincare for the amount of serum, a quality product that is hard to substitute with anything else and that provides that glass skin look.

    I love, love, love how lightweight and delicate this feels on the skin. It's nice to apply and absorbs pretty quickly. It is definitely a bit sticky, but I mean... with snail in the name, I am not surprised. It makes my skin feel hydrated and a bit plumped, really helps to lock in moisture after washing my face/showering.

    Highly recommend, especially if you're prone to dry skin. It layers very well with the serum I use and my lightweight moisturizer. Not sure if I would use this as a standalone product since I think it functions best with a slightly more occlusive emollient like a finishing moisturizer to lock it in.

    👉The Black Snail Serum is currently priced as $36.91 at the time of this review. This is my first time using a snail based serum and one thing that sets it apart from other serums promising a skin glow is the silky application process from the serum liquid. It has a subtle scent, about 3/10 on my personal scent scale and a little goes a long way. I think it's priced appropriately based on the amount provided, this will last me quite a while.

    This snail mucin is very light but hydrating. It seems like it may be a bit sticky when just pumped out of the bottle, but once applied to the skin, it's not sticky or heavy at all. This type of clear snail mucin product is a great alternative to the traditional cream moisturizers, especially on warmer days when I don't want to put on the cream moisturizers.

    I think sometimes snail mucin products are advertised as a products for those who go through microneedling procedures, but they are very good moisturizers in general. I have a microneedling device that I use once in a while, but I don't puncture my skin to the point where it bleeds, so I can't testify as to how snail mucin will help the skin recover from that.

    I've tried Jasclair's snail mucin and compared with Tosowoong's, I didn't notice much difference in terms of hydration. Tosowoong's snail mucin however is not as viscous or thick as Jasclair's but they both apply to the skin equally well. Jasclair snail mucin as gone up in price over the past few months, but it's still currently priced lower than Tosowoong's and both are made in Korea.

    It's my first time using Black Snail Serum, but wow! I love the thick consistency SO much - It is so hydrating, and my skin feels so smooth. I used this as a serum, so it was last in my process after moisturizer, and my skin has never felt so good. It was soothing, absorbed quickly, and left my skin so soft to the touch!

    I love that it is fragrance free, I find too many scents to be overwhelming. I also adore that it is cruelty free - and NOT testing on animals. I personally prefer products not testing on animals, so it's always a treat to find a cruelty free product that actually works for my sensitive skin.

    A great value product here, especially for those with sensitive skin, and those sensitive to scents.

    I recently gifted my wife the Black Snail Plus Essence with an impressive 960,890ppm of black snail secretion filtrate, and it's been a delightful addition to her skincare routine.     The essence has a lightweight, gel-like texture that absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky residue. My wife appreciates that it's unscented, making it suitable for her sensitive skin. After incorporating it into her nightly routine, she's noticed her skin feeling more hydrated and supple.

    This is my go-to snail mucin. I used COSRX and really like it as well, but prefer this one for 2 key reasons - 1. it doesn’t contain phenoxyethanol, which I try to avoid if possible, so this product is cleaner and 2. This is extracted from African giant black snail which has a richer concentration of allantoin, proteins and other ingredients that provide stronger repair and elasticity - more anti-aging - than common snails. If I’m gonna do snail, why not do it all the way lol?

    It has less slip than COSRX, which I prefer, and it dries down faster / less tacky. The trade off is it’s a little less cushiony but much better for layering. I think COSRX is slightly more hydrating due to the slip, but Tosowoong is the better quality, more anti-aging option IMO. I’ve had better firming and bounce with Tosowoong and love the lighter, highly absorbent quality. I think many good snail mucin essences will give great hydration and glow, but this Tosowoong feels great, pairs and layers fantastically and packs more of an anti-aging punch than any others I’ve tried. Love it.
