6 for $16.99 is a great value! I like the large loops for hanging out of the way, but within easy reach by the workbench. In the past, I've used those plastic things with 'teeth' and had good results but they get stuck and I have to get one of the guys to get it out. Usually resulting in broken 'teeth' and they cost per unit a lot more than these. this is just a sturdy 'cable' encased in rubberized coating that is stiff enough to manuever but bendy enough to do the 'S' in the pipe. The bottom 3" (?) is a brushy bristle that catches on everything. That's before I even got it in the drain. As the photos show, it pulled out a good amount of hair and gook. Afterwards I washed it with soap and water and went against the bristle to get out the last trapped hairs and hung it on a nail and walked away. The Tonki Drain Snake is easy to use, didn't get stuck at all and I think it did a fine job. As good or better than those that I had been using. Getting 6 in the pack means I can share them. Sounds strange, but I think when our sons realize I have a few of these; more than 1 will be going home with someone. What are moms for?

    When I got these I was skeptical, since the head of these does not seem to have any long "bristles" like most of the big box store versions. These seem/feel more like the "hook" side of the hook&loop fasteners.

    I used one today on one of my bathroom sinks. Initially, I put it in, and pulled it out and it did bring up a whole bunch of hair, which is what I am used to. Then after pulling the hair off of it (which is the hardest part), I put it back in, but it was not picking up much more. BUT, since these are long, I pushed it in further down, and it got close to the "trap". I could feel something soft and spongy there, which I assumed was more hair. But as I pulled it up, I was not getting much. So this time I put it all the way into to the trap again, but this time, I used the little loop end/handle on top, to twist it it a few times, which pushing down on it into the trap section. Well, try to pull it out, and this time I felt resistance, which meant it had definitely caught something. So slowly I was pulling it out and twisting at the same time. WOW, it brought out a huge clump, which was at the bottom. Did it a few times and it I was amazed at how much it actually managed to get.

    So overall, this device worked pretty damn well even though I was skeptical at the beginning. The twisting while it is in the drain helped to get the hair to catch and get twisted onto the device, which makes it easy to pull out. The hardest (and most disgusting part) is trying to untangle and remove all the hair a gunk from the device. The wire/plastic that it is made of seems a little more solid than those all plastic cheap units you get at big box stores or dollar stores. I does not feel like it will break easily.
    And with 6 of them in the pack, I will be good for a while, and will probably also give one each to my mom and my mother-in-law.

    This drain snake is made well and works to a degree. I was able to pull some of the plug out but I think the snake had trouble getting up and into the horizontal section of the drain pipe that goes into the wall. It felt like it would get stuck, possibly against the top of the beginning of the horizontal piece. I tried twisting it a little and it did go a bit further but the twisting caused a section of the velcroed end to come unglued. The end didn't come off but it was less secure. I purchased some Green Gobler to hopefully finish the job.

    Fun fact, I used to use those little mascara spoolies to clean the drain whenever needed. One day as I was cleaning a centipede crawls right out. I was horrified. From that day on, no more spoolies. I was so relieved to get these. Not only do they work perfectly, but they are plenty long. And certainly put some distance between your hand and any potential creepy crawlers

    Got a slow drain in the bathroom. Used one of these and pushed it down deep. At first, only a little hair came out. Twisted it while it was in, then pulled slowly. Brought up a big, nasty clump from the trap. Did it a few more times, and the water started flowing fast again.

    The tool is long enough to reach far, and the coated metal feels strong. The little hook at the end really grabs onto stuff, but cleaning it off after is gross and tricky. It didn’t break or bend during use, which has happened with flimsier ones. Having more than one in the pack is useful, since I’ll be doing this again soon.
