When this first arrived, I scrutinized its construction. My main concern was if it was possible for it to leak between the tank and the inside of the unit. As you can see in the photos, the bottom does not have any drain holes if such a leak did occur. But as you can also see in the photos, the way they constructed the drain opening with the extra thick silicone washer, such a leak is not likely to happen. It is well built. And they also include a spare washer just in case but I doubt you will need it. Maybe if you constantly remove and reinstall the spout then the washer might wear out, but there is no reason to do that.
The next step was to test the temperature settings. I partly filled the tank with water and inserted a meat thermometer. I positioned the thermometer in such a way as to measure the water temperature and not the bottom of the tank itself. I checked the temperature with the dial settings of 70, 85 and 100. As you can see in the photos, the temperature taken when the light goes out was 62, 80 and 88.
Now you can tweak the dial at the lower temperatures to get exactly what you want, but the maximum temperature would not exceed 88 degrees and that is with 1/3 tank of water. I would accept 95 as being reasonable, but 88 is 12 degrees colder than what is advertised. One star off for that.
Everything else advertised about this wax melting machine is as promised. I could not find any other problems with it. I don't think it will be an issue with the temperature as most waxes are not heated to 88C (190F) but maybe there are some. We mostly use waxes with low melting temperatures so this will not be a problem for ourselves.
I give this wax melting pot 4 out of 5 stars and do recommend it. It's a nice device and I think you will enjoy using it.

Worked way better than anticipated! Put the wax in and expected it to take about 30 minutes to melt but to my surprise the wax was melted within 4 minutes. Had to wipe it out before use as there were black grease marks inside. This did not affect the color of my candles fortunately.
