Step into high-definition gaming with TNP PS3 PS2 Component Cable to connect your PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3 console to the YPbPr component video inputs on your TV or other video equipment. Engineered and constructed for top-tier performance, these cables deliver superior analog video and audio output from your PS2 or PS3. The fully shielded design eliminates audio and video crosstalk, while the optimal signal transmission ensures full video detail even at 1080p resolutions.

Certain software, including most PlayStation 1 games and some PlayStation 2 games, require your TV or monitor to support "240p" (NTSC/60Hz regions) and/or "288p" (PAL/50Hz regions) over its YPbPr inputs. To ensure compatibility, please test your equipment using a 240p Compatibility Test before purchasing if this is a concern

Installation Instruction:
Start your PS2 without a disc. Use the original AV cable that came with your PS2.
Find and select "System Configuration."
Look for "Component Video Out" and select it.
Change the setting from "RGB" to "Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr."
Remove the AV cables from both your PS2 and TV.
Connect the new component cables to your TV and PS2. Make sure to match the color-coded plugs to the correct ports.
Choose the component source (YPbPr) as the input for your TV remote or controls.

I recently rediscovered my old PS2 and was quite disappointed with how awful the video quality came out on my HD TV with the stock AV cables. I figured component cables would improve the quality a little bit but I'm pretty impressed with the results. You immediately see the upgrade just after booting up the PS2. Obviously, your video games won't become HD but the picture is crisper and the onscreen text is no longer blurry. Highly recommended!
