My use-case for this sensor is to monitor the temperature inside my freezer and my fridge to provide early alerts if either fails and the temperature starts to rise. I use this with my Hubitat home hub. I also have one sealed in a waterproof floating container in my hot tub to tell me if my heater has failed (bad scenario in the winter).

Overall I am super happy. I had tried other temp sensors from brands like Aqara and SonOff. Those continued to fail in these applications because of the smaller button cell batteries. Even the larger 2450’s didn’t work in the freezer as they don’t like the extreme cold. These ThirdReality sensors with two AAA batteries work super well with no battery issues and maintain a strong signal. I had similar problems with the other brands with intermittent connection fails for the hot tub application, and this sensor works much better with zero issues.

Also happy with solid build quality and easy pairing. I also own ThirdReality vibration sensors and those are equally great.

Gets 5 stars like all the different ThirdReality Zigbee devices I have, stable and use normal batteries that don't die all the time. It would get 10 stars if there was an external probe model, Zigbee ones are all but impossible to find, hope the manufacturer is looking, think freezers/water lines/crawl spaces/hot tubs etc. Photos are of a doable hack for fairly technical people and it easily fits back into the case. Requires removal of the SHT40 thermal sensor and decoupling capacitor both located on board tongue and 2 pull up resistors on the two traces back to the processor, the only reasonable sized solder points for data lines, all four devices removed via hot air are very very tiny SMD devices. SHT40 SMD pads are too tiny to solder wires to but +3V and GND have nice plated through holes near the processor. Note colours on green/yellow data lines end-to-end, must not be reversed, the only real challenge is soldering those onto the old SMD resistor pads. Added back two 10K pull up resistors and a 100nf decoupling capacitor at the external probe connector, per the SHT40 data sheet, can't read old values. Drilled one extra air vent hole 1/16in and enlarged the adjacent one in the case to install the 2.54mm 4 pin connector, solder inside holds the connector in place, the external probe connector is crimped - E size bare type. Wire is flexible 30 AWG stranded. All the bits are available on �鶹�� except the SHT40 probes which are $3ea direct from AE China, 1 out of 10 was DOA. Been running seven 3M long probes for over a week with SmartThings hub, stable so far and temps match unmodified sensors as expected. Have not attempted to immerse one of those cheap probes in water, it is vented for humidity measurement, very skeptical about the waterproof claim, would seal the vent with waterproof/glue type heat shrink tubing as a minimum.

Je suis équipé en capteurs Sonoff, je n'ai qu'1 seul capteur de température third reality et c'était pour avoir une 2ème source de comparaison avec ce que j'ai d'installé.
1- Côté température, les relevés sont parfaits. Ce n'est JAMAIS le problème sur des capteurs de températures, toutes les mesures sont très homogènes toutes marques confondues, sauf capteurs "HS" évidement. Le third reality remonte une info toutes les 5min de base (cf photo), exactement ce que je voulais.
2- Côté humidité, c'est la raison de mon achat. Mes sonoff surévaluent TOUS les taux d'humidité, de l'ordre de +5 à +10%. Ce n'est pas rédhibitoire ... quand on connait le delta de ce différentiel.
Ce third reality est à +2 ou +3%, donc on va dire que c'est très largement bon. Et pareil, 1 valeur remontée toutes les 5min de base.

Le point négatif vs mes Sonoff, c'est que les sonoff sont aimantés + fournis avec une plaque vissable indépendante. Sur la photo j'ai percé la plaque plastique, il y a la place dans le boitier third reality pour une tête de vis, ça rattrape un peu.
Le gros point positif du third reality étant la nature des piles utilisées, des AA.

Le produit est très bon. Si à l'avenir j'ai d'autre unités à acheter ? Sonoff ou third reality c'est sincèrement kiff-kiff ça dépendra des disponibilités et des prix, il n'y a pas de mauvais choix.
