Product description

Tekton 3/8 inch drive flex head ratchets have a 90-tooth gear that produces a working swing arc of 4 degrees. The single half-moon pawl maintains 9 teeth engaged with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress. The flex head moves 180-degrees, snapping into 9 different detent angles. The classic non-quick-release drive tang retains sockets with a spring-actuated detent ball—push the sockets onto the ratchet and pull to remove them. The soft overmold grip and rounded oval shape of the comfort grip handle support your palm and fingers. Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: length, width, and height. Tekton ratchets meet (and most far exceed) the industry standard for proof torque, a measure of strength verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or any permanent deformation.

    This is my first tekton tool and I love it so far. I like it better than my snap on FL80 that has way too much backdrag. Ratcheting mechanism is nice and smooth, minimal back drag. Flex head is action is positive and stays where you set it.. Good fit and finish. I’ll be buying more tekton tools.

    Let me first of all say that I am a professional mechanic and have been for 25 years. My tools get used on a very regular basis and I have come to expect them to hold up. Bought this to use while my Snap On was being fixed and it didn’t last but maybe 3 weeks. Put a little torque on it and it snapped the pin that holds the head of the ratchet to the body, leaving the broken end of the pin still threaded in. I’m not going to bother trying to warranty this as it was cheap enough. Harbor Freight’s ratchets are better than this. Maybe it’s ok for a weekend DIY’er but if you’re going to use this with any type of regularity and expect it to hold up, buy something else.
