I'll be honest, aside from mushroom extracts blended in here, I'm not really sure where the "mushroom coffee" part comes in. I've heard about mushroom coffee before, and it always sounded like a coffee-alternative, and in fairness, that might be a misinterpretation on my part. This is a blended coffee, which I'm not angry about, I enjoy coffee.
For anyone concerned about a discernable flavour difference because "mushrooms", there's no such difference from a decent instant coffee. If you take 'decent instant coffee' as a negative part here, don't be too dissuaded. This is a super fine grind, dissolves almost instantly (hot water, haven't tested cold water), has nearly no residue left behind in the cup after the last drop (unlike some other instant coffees) and has a nice bold coffee flavour. It should be noted that the package recommends no more than 1 8oz cup per day, presumably due to the extracts/mushrooms.. so don't plan on making this your daytime replacement unless you're a very light coffee drinker

I am actually somewhat impressed. It's not so much the taste that I like more or less in any way, it's the fact that the buzz was really chill, I had lots of energy and had enjoyable conversation with family that was both communicative and upbeat, and this was even remarked upon by the other parties in the room. I'd only had one cup and had started on another.

I'm not saying that mushroom coffee is some kind of wonder coffee, but it tastes nice, and certainly seems to have its merit, found in the particular ingredients used to produce it. I noted there is actual Arabica coffee in this one, which I am under the impression is not actually the same with all other mushroom hot drinks which emulate the coffee experience.

Whatever the case, I like it, and I don't like it at the same time. I give it 4 stars. It's slightly grainy, tiny little bits that were hardly noticeable but still there, I assume they are mushroom bits... it is almost entirely smooth — almost. Nothing to get bent out of shape about. But will it replace my actual weekly coffee intake? Perhaps not. I do so love my espresso machine.

But will it make a nice treat when I need a gentle kick? Absolutely. I liked it more than enough for that. Add a little cream, and it's silky goodness in a cup.

I was curious about mushroom coffee so I gave this a try and was pleasantly surprised!

It doesn't taste exactly like coffee, but it's pretty close. You really get the earthy notes from the mushroom, so it can be a bit of an acquired taste, but I love it so far!

You make just like you'd make normal instant coffee. Just use it sparingly because the cost for what you actually get in the jar is a little on the higher side.

Overall though it's been a great alternative to normal coffee!

Highly recommend!

tastes like a decent cup of coffee, there's no mushroom taste at all.
It mixed well with the 8oz of hot water as per the instructions. Sometimes has lumps but not usually, it mostly dissolves completely in the hot water.

The container has 85g of coffee and it recommends one teaspoon per 8oz of water. A teaspoon is generally accepted to be around 5g so there is 17 cups of coffee in all. Of course it's not going to be exact when using a teaspoon so let's call it 15 cups. At ~$20 at the time of this review each cup of coffee would be $1.33, cheaper than going to a coffee shop but much more than making coffee at home.

As for the mushrooms I can't say I experienced any effects good or bad. They are all supposed to be super healthy for you so at least I can feel good about that.

I ordered this TALCUFON Mushroom Coffee to see if it offered anything notable for my afternoon brickwall. This is an Arabica medium roast instant coffee with 8 different "superfood" mushrooms. While it boasts that it can used for energy and focus, that's something coffee can achieve without the mushrooms. There was nothing to indicate mushroom concentration.

The instructions recommend mixing a single serve, 1 teaspoon (5g) into an 8oz glass of boiling water. (It also recommends to not exceed one serving per day.) This did not produce as bold a taste as I prefer. The instant coffee is a fine powder that dissolves easily. It is incredibly fragrant. There was a very slight hint of an earthy taste, but not off-putting at all. My creamer blended in very well.

At the recommended serving size of 5g, the container should make 17 servings. At $19.99, less than $1.25 per cup is still less expensive than a coffee shop.

This coffee is being marketed with very trendy buzzwords: superfood, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, keto friendly, locally natural. I'm not sure there is anything that actually sets this instant coffee apart from the much less expensive alternatives.

I'll finish it, so as not to waste it, but I wouldn't buy it again.
