bought this to use a wet sweeper only but I did try the dry cloths and yeah they barley do anything. Mainly I bought this to replace our spray mop. I have a starting solids baby and was using the spray mop 3-4x a day which was so bad for our engineered hardwood ( most pain in the ass flooring ever). It would get the floor too wet which can lift the glue. I started using this instead and not only does it not get the floor as wet but it REALLY cleans. The pads were dark with dirt. I find because the whole actual unit is lighter and easier to handle I can really apply a lot of pressure. This is especially good on sticky spots of lets say maple syrup or dried ketchup. I also find it easier to maneuver into tight spots I wasn't previously reaching with the spray mop. The smell is also wonderful and the pads don't leave the floor streaky or slippery. I would love to find some pads with bleach in them. My standard routine after meals is pick up big pieces of food, wet swiffer and the crumbs that aren't picked up by the pad get pushed into a little pile and I hand vac that up and the floors are spotless. We don't reach for our central vac as much as we used to. I do wish the clothes were a smidge more wet and usually after flipping the pad over I spray it with some extra water
