After being completely housebound last spring and summer due to this pond, aka the mosquito generator, I had to find a solution. I’ve put these in the pond twice now (every 30 days) I’ve found that there hasn’t been a single mosquito in the yard so far this year. Crossing my fingers I’ll be able to spend some time outside now! UPDATE: Summer is over and so the update is that I was virtually mosquito free all summer!

    It's hard to prove a negative, but I believe these work. I live in an apartment and use a small storage room as my indoor container garden. I had to give up a couple of years because the soil gnats were making me crazy. My garden is flourishing and no gnats to be seen. IMPORTANT NOTE. These float, so if you've read about them "in the bottom of a bucket" it was probably unintendedly misleading. I keep a 3 gallon filled water and added half of one into that. I've only seen 2 gnats wandering around briefly in the living room and were soon gone. These are a real blessing.
