    I have done IF in the past and know it works, I just fell off the wagon and the weight came back. This book has reminded me how it's really the best eating plan out there (and there are several variations to suit anyone's lifestyle), and I am going to start again! Now I'm over 50, it's especially relevant, and this book details the special circumstances of weight gain and loss during menopause. Very good!

    I've never heard of intermittent fasting before. So, i learned a lot from this book! The logic makes sense. I'll gift this book to my mom. I think it will be perfect for him to try!

    I admit, this is my third Intermittent Fasting Book. But frankly as this is the one method I find gives me consistent results I am always eager to discover more, and every book does give me a new perspective.

    The benefits are uncontestable in my view - no other method has given me such clarity of mind and instantly removes aches and pains and helps reduce weight and bloat like Intermittent Fasting.

    Jennifer Lindsey sets out the benefits too and confirms that historically fasting isn't new like most books on the subject, confirming:
    "Enhanced autophagy can help counteract health risks by improving cellular function and resilience. For instance, better autophagy is linked to reduced inflammation, a key factor in many chronic diseases, including heart disease and diabetes, which tend to appear more frequently in later life. Additionally, by removing damaged cellular components, autophagy plays a role in preventing cancer"

    What sets this book apart for me though , and makes it another favorite to re-read, is that it is specific to women over fifty going through hormonal changes and provides nutritional guidelines specific to this audience which includes recipes.

    Lindsey discussed the different strategies in a very practical way to help you set realistic goals, understand the natural progression of dietary adaptations, celebrate non-scale victories, and help you be flexible in your approach. As well as providing psychological coping mechanisms and cognitive framing methods.

    A really good practical approach to Intermittent Fasting, which even includes a special chapter on social eating and intermittent fasting and how to balance both!

    "Successful Intermittent Fasting For Women Over 50" is such a good book. I have had issues with my weight for years and I have tried so many diets that didn't work. I finally feel like I have found something that will work. I love that there are different ways to IF and I just need to choose the one that works best for me.

    This book was written for women who find their energy dwindling, their metabolism slowing down making their weight impossible to control, and their mental powers in general becoming foggier. It also discusses tips for working through your cravings, for staying committed to your goal and for preparing easy nutritious recipes.

    Jennifer Lindsy explains a number of different approaches for fasting, for instance the 16/8 method where you fast for 16 hours and eat during an 8-hour window, or when you fast for 24 hours once or twice a week. What makes it different from other IF books is its coverage on metabolic and hormonal changes that women over 50 face.

    Fasting has been around for millennia and has been used for creating greater mental clarity and increased energy and vitality due to fine tuning of one’s hormone regulation. Many women report not only feeling greater energy but greater positivity, which is not surprising. The success stories toward the book’s conclusion were most uplifting. This is a simple and comprehensive read and I highly recommend it.
