- Reviewed in Canada on March 25, 2020Verified PurchaseI've only done a small amount of stripping of some 3/0 RW90 wire and am very impressed with this tool. Adjustments to suit the wire size were easy & quick. The insulation is cut just to the copper; there were just a few score marks where the cutter wheel contacted the wire.
The thing is beautifully made of machined aluminum. All the moving parts operate smoothly with no excessive play. I went for the drill powered model because I have a number of old orphaned drills with no batteries laying around. The drill and stripper were mounted to a board along with an adapter for a Milwaukee M18 battery. The trigger for the drill is held in the desired position by an adjustable screw for speed control. An external switch turns the drill on & off. The drill's clutch can be adjusted to slip if the wire is misfed.
The whole thing works brilliantly. I have the drill running in low gear & the speed is just about right. It's pretty quick, but slow enough that it's still easy to feed the wire. Once I have more practice, I might try it in high gear, just for giggles.
I saw some reports of the drive wheel wearing out quickly, so that's something I'll watch for. But I don't see why it would do that. It's made of steel & it's only grabbing onto plastic insulation. I'll update this review if my experience with it changes. Thanks for reading.
UPDATE:
I've stripped about 1200' of 3/0 RW90 copper wire and the machine has performed perfectly. After getting used to using it, I shifted the drill into high gear & the wire really flies through. Wire that is not straight will probably need to go at a slower rate though.
There is no evidence of the drive wheel wearing out, as has been mentioned in other reviews. I suspect it will last a long time. Perhaps it's made of a harder steel now.
I have an old Dewalt drill with no batteries that volunteered itself to power the stripper. A Milwaukee battery holder solved the power problem. It's mounted on a board, along with the StripMeister and a switch (see photo)

- Reviewed in Canada on July 20, 2025Verified PurchaseSeems to be quite well made and works exactly as described.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 27, 2025Verified PurchasePurchased a few months ago and I'm happy with the product. Super easy to set up and make adjustments on the fly. The only thing I would change is the shaft length.....add another 1.5" to it so it's easier to wrap your hand around the drill chuck to snug it up.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2024Verified PurchaseIt's all around a time saver. Now I find if you tighten it to much with certain wire or if the wire is twisted then sometimes it will run off the guide and you will have to re align it. Besides that, I stripped quite a bit in just a couple hours. I'm very pleased with my purchase since I split the cost with 2 other guys.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks great on most all my wires but not on the really small ones.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 24, 2025Verified PurchaseExcellent product. Highly recommend.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 28, 2025Verified PurchaseThis paid for itself three-fold in one afternoon. Super easy to use. I attached it to my foldable workmate and stripped a bunch of 3/0. I used my drill on the high torque setting instead of a higher RPM and got better results. I should have bought this years ago. It sure beats stripping wire with a knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase that pays for itself.
Verified PurchaseBlades last long as well as you get it set right, easy to take care of, and works as well as you can use it. There’s a tiny learning curve in terms of adjusting it, but I got the hang of it in around 15 minutes.
I recommend having either a large battery, multiple good sized ones, or a mixture. I used a 60v 9 AH battery to strip for about 8 hours and only dropped a bar. Throw in my 5 ah battery, and I could probably strip non stop.
