I love the taste of strawberries in the midwinter however it is hard to dissolve, and I do get a few lumps. I don’t know how this works in smoothies, but I have tried it with boiling water to make a strawberry tea and it really helps

    I debated on 5 stars. I debated on 3 stars… I’m a bit torn with this one! I eat lots of freeze dried strawberries and they naturally have a stickiness. This is why other companies use additives to make it not clumpy. Now I’m happy that this product doesn’t have these additives!!! However I haven’t yet figured out how to not have clumps! I rly wish the company would help explain how to make best use of their product as it seems great otherwise. It taste exactly like the freeze dried strawberries I snack on.

    Well, I'd like to say I tried this, but I didn't, my daughter ate it all. She used it first to flavor and color home made boba with, and then after that she just made strawberry milk and that was all she wrote, bag used up. She never really measured, but I watched her a couple times, she'd take what looked like about one tablespoon of the strawberry powder and put it in a shaker jar and shake it to break the powder up, then she'd add milk and it looked like anywhere from 8 to 12 ounces, it carried each time, and then she'd add what looked like about one tablespoon of granulated sugar, then shake the heck out of it and enjoy. This is such a better idea than junky strawberry syrup, with this strawberry powder she is getting natural colors, natural flavors, and even fiber as this is literally just whole freeze dried strawberries powderized. The only improvements we can think of is if it were organic, and if it didn't need breaking up (I tried to get her to use my flour sifter to do that but she wanted to do her own thing....)

    This freeze-dried strawberry powder does not contain whole or even pieces of strawberries but is still made of real fruit. It is primarily designed for smoothies when you want to add flavor but don't have the actual fruit, whether fresh or frozen. It also works well in macarons to add flavor and color without additional liquid. Because the Canadian-based company doesn't add anti-caking agents, you will get a few clumps that will need to be broken apart before measuring.

    The flavor is a definite strawberry, although it doesn't taste like height-of-the-season berries. It tastes more like off-season berries, the kind that have strawberry tastes without the intensity most of us crave. For smoothies, I have no issues, as long as I don't rely on the powder for a dominant flavor.

    I use this freeze-dried strawberry powder to make strawberry milkshakes when we don't have fresh strawberries on hand. It blends in well and has a nice, real strawberry flavor. However, I need to use a lot more than what is suggested on the back of the bag to get the desired taste.

    I like that the powder is sweet without adding any extra sugars, and that it is simply freeze-dried strawberries instead of processed, manufactured strawberry flavoring. I have also used this powder in buttercreams, and it turns out great.

    However, the powder is very expensive for the amount, considering that I tend to need to use more than I expected when I do use it. Even with a resealable bag, the powder will somehow start absorbing moisture. My recommendation is to keep out as much air as possible when you reseal the bag, and to store it next to a moisture-absorbing pad to keep it from clumping.
