When making acrylic paint monoprints on my Gel plates('Gelli Arts' & 'Gel Plate Monoprint'), I use this paper to both pull prints and also clean off excess paint from my brayer. The paper holds up surprisingly well to multiple layers of thin & thicker paints & various paint mediums. Held up great when used with my Gelli Plate & Alcohol Inks too. My paper pad arrived in perfect condition, no bends or creases or tears. I've ordered these *multiple* times over the last 10 years. Quality has not faltered. Def recommend the product.. before reviewing, do lots of experimenting with your medium of choice whether it's charcoal, pencil, ink, paint etc. It's not going to hold up to lots of wetness like watercolor painting or juicy pens but it's been great with Liquitex mediums, Liquitex acrylic paint, Apple Barrel paint, Mont Marte paint, chameleon micca powders, alcohol inks + gel hand sanitizer + Alcohol Ink Lifter or thick white acrylic paint and glue as well. It takes glue stick form better than gel glue but both work. Very flexible product that I'll continue to purchase! It can bleed thru a bit with the wetter Piñata inks I've experimented with but I've had no major issues as I use the pages I pull in collage :)

Great Quality Sketch Pad for Artists and Students!

The Strathmore 200 Series Sketch Pad is a fantastic choice for artists of all levels. I’ve been using it for both quick sketches and more detailed drawings, and it consistently delivers great results.

    Pros:
    • High-Quality Paper: The texture is smooth with just the right amount of tooth, making it perfect for pencils, charcoal, and even light ink work. Erasing doesn’t damage the surface, which is a huge plus.
    • Generous Sheet Count: 100 sheets is a great value! I don’t feel the need to be overly cautious or sparing with my sketches.
    • Perfect Size (9x12 inches): Large enough for detailed work but still portable for carrying to class or outdoor sketching.
    • Sturdy Tape Binding: The tape-bound edge holds everything securely, but pages are still easy to remove cleanly when needed.
    • Great for Practice: Ideal for students and hobbyists – affordable without sacrificing quality.

    Cons:
    • Not for Heavy Media: This is best for dry media. If you plan on using watercolors or heavy ink washes, a heavier paper might be better.

I bought two of these to test out different media. I personally am not using it as a sketch pad to keep all my drawings, but more to test out subject matter, values, media, etc. Strathmore is a very good company, and this was a deal I couldn't refuse. I've used pen, ink, watercolor, colored pencil, graphite and all work fine for my purpose on this paper. I wouldn't use this for something I'd want to frame; the paper is not sturdy for final works, but great for quick studies. It's also a bright white, not an off-white if that is something you need to know. I'd buy this again for sure.
