After replacing 3 oem belts, (2 belts lasted 4 weeks) I realized the issue was the blade engagement system was worn out. You can't tell by looking at it until you take it apart and see that the pulley, mounting bolt worked loose and spacer holes are wobbled out. $100 of parts fixed it, I hope. Can't rate the durability of these belts yet, but I think they'll be just fine. I see a lot of complaints about belt failure on this mower all over the net, including 鶹. I'm pretty sure it's the drive system, not the belts.
Actually, I've found these belts are a fraction too short. Belt at first was engaging drive system without using the engagement lever, which wouldn't allow me to pull start engine. After doing 1 mowing it seemed to seat in and worked ok. I accidentally quickly released the drive system and it jammed the belt shredding it after 6 uses. I had ordered 2 of these, so now on my second, which also is tight, but I'm being very carefully to engage and disengage slowly. Going to order a spare, but it'll be OEM. I also will say that my previous comment about worn out parts is the reason you're seeing so many complaints about pre mature belt failures.
