I am pretty tough on my mice because I enjoy playing FPS games that require a lot of mouse movement and clicks. I have gone through a few different generic brands over the years and wanted something with a better build that the buttons might last longer. This Steelseries mouse is a good size, though I prefer the slightly wider format I have had in the past from other models. It has all the basic options with a few nice perks. I don't know that I really need 18K DPI, but having the option to go higher is nice. The scroll wheel and the buttons all feel very sturdy. The weight is sturdy but still light and the glide pads are smooth.
I am not a big fan of the whole RGB on everything movement. It was a bit more complicated than I would have liked to modify the RGB settings out of the box. I had to install a 400MB software package to control this which seems like total overkill, but if you have some use for the additional software that is bundled, it is a great value. After figuring out how to modify the RGB, it is actually kind of fun. It is cool being able to modify 5 different zones each with different colors if you want, especially at this price point.
I have large hands, so a slightly larger mouse would be ideal, which is why I am knocking one star off the ergonomics and comfort. Still at this price point, it will be impossible to find the same quality, so this is a no brainer. While the software feels like over kill, I don't know of any mouse that doesn't require software installation to modify the settings and to the best of my knowledge, Steelseries doesn't have the privacy concerns that many other big brands have been exposed to have with their software. I am about a month in and very happy with the purchase. Unless there is a compelling need for more buttons or format, I don't know why you would want to spend more!

This is without a doubt THE BEST wired mouse for the budget you can get on amazon.

I have had MANY other ones, some with bad software, some bad quality that gave up after a few weeks, not to mention the "wireless" ones that I have to always change the batteries, or keep moving my dongle around when changing devices.
This one is simple and straight to the point. Plug it, and play!

I have set my RGB once in the software, and have had 0 issues after it. Even when changing devices, the RGB just stays the same which is a big plus for me (as my Logitech was not able to do that in the past).

I recommended this mouse to all my friends looking for a budget option and I have used it for MONTHS without ANY issues at all! It is supper sleak, the RGB is solid, the extra grip on the scrolling wheel is a plus, and the DPI button is useful (although after finding my preferred one, I never touched it again). I strongly recommend this product.

I have used a lot of gaming mice, Logitech has the best sensors in my experience but now that I have used the steel series I can say that there sensors are amazing👍. I have not seen the longevity yet but all my previous mice had a button fail. Roccat, Asus I have had 3 of each in last 4 years and there good but not as good as steel series. Playing games like Escape From tarkov I'm much more accurate and it just feels easier to click those head's if you get what I mean. This 39$ mouse out performed the Roccat wireless and wired mice and Asus rog Gladius 1 and 2. The software is really good full of cool options and adjustability. The rgbs work don't glitch and there no Asus armory garbage software to glitch out. All the mice in the picture have a button (fire #1 button) that's no good. The Roccat burst pro is the only mouse that compares and I still prefer the Rival 3.

I have used a lot of gaming mice, Logitech has the best sensors in my experience but now that I have used the steel series I can say that there sensors are amazing👍. I have not seen the longevity yet but all my previous mice had a button fail. Roccat, Asus I have had 3 of each in last 4 years and there good but not as good as steel series. Playing games like Escape From tarkov I'm much more accurate and it just feels easier to click those head's if you get what I mean. This 39$ mouse out performed the Roccat wireless and wired mice and Asus rog Gladius 1 and 2. The software is really good full of cool options and adjustability. The rgbs work don't glitch and there no Asus armory garbage software to glitch out. All the mice in the picture have a button (fire #1 button) that's no good. The Roccat burst pro is the only mouse that compares and I still prefer the Rival 3.

I purchased this mouse as I was upgrading a few other peripherals and figured why not get them all at the same time. I knew I didn't want anything over priced since at the end of the day it was just a mouse. This came with quite a few extras that most other "cheaper" options wouldn't have with them. Thanks to the SteelSeries app, you can customize the colors and patterns endlessly as well as make tweaks and save different profiles for dpi and sensitivity if that's your sort of thing depending on the occasion. The mouse itself feels fairly light weight but not so much so that it feels cheap or that it will break. I believe my only complaint that I would have for this is that it may feel smaller in some peoples hands as I find myself something having to adjust my hand placement although I'm unsure if this is just me still getting accustom to the new mouse or due top my previous mouse have a little more space for my palm to rest on. All in all I have happy with my purchase.

This is the best mouse for the price point, but it's not perfect.

Pros:
-Great brand
-Solid construction
-Great price
-Enough productivity/macro buttons for average gaming
Having the two side buttons, and a re-programmable center button is really nice for a variety of tasks. When I used to play MOBA games it was nice to have a couple keys mapped there, but now that I am primarily working with the mouse I map Enter and Delete. The buttons have a nice tactile press, and hold up quite well.

Cons:
-A bit on the small side, acceptable for claw grip on larger hands.
-Not Mac or Linux native friendly (you can still customize it)
-Hard to clean/upkeep

This is the second time I've purchased a SteelSeries Rival mouse, as the first one became impossible to maintain after about 6 years of use. In my case, dust that managed to sneak into the mouse wheel area was impossible to remove without disassembly. After fixing that issue, the left mouse button's contact never quite lined up.
