Comfortable, Durable, Long battery life, Decent microphone, some software bugs.
They are a comfortable, well built, decent looking headset, the ski-band support really makes these one of the most comfortable headsets I have ever used, the earmuffs are fairly comfortable and breathable enough to not overheat your ears to bad. the battery life is phenomenal I have had very long gaming sessions on mine no problem longest battery life I have ever had in a headset, I usually plug them in before the next session just in case, these will beep at you when you are getting low, the steelseries software is pretty customizable, and the 7.1 surround sound mixer works well enough, but during big bassie sounds it sometimes has static artifacts introduced which bugs me so I tend to run it in Stereo headphone mod (the off setting on the software) which mitigates this. the sound is reasonably crisp but sounds a little tinny on the bass. for fps players the footstep location with this headset is a little above average I have no trouble locating people in games, but still not as good as the cheap turtle beach tend to be for locating people. The chat volume balance roller is really nice as i don't have to alt-tab to correct someone yelling in ts/discord/xbox live.

This is my second time purchasing the Arctis 7 Headset.

My first set only lasted 3 months before it stopped charging, because the charging port on the headset became too loose to have the cord connect properly. I think this was my own fault though, since there were several times where I fell asleep wearing the headset while it was still plugged in to charge. I'm going to be more careful this time around, and hope for better; this headset is definitely worth a second chance.

I wear this headset to sleep every night, and combined with the time I spend using it while awake, I have an average daily use of 14-24 hours (2500+ hours total). That being said, the two most important features of this headset to me are comfort, and durability.

The adjustable headband really lets me get the perfect fit and positioning, and it takes most of the weight of the headset off of my head. The ear cushions are comfortable, and there's a generous amount of room in the ear cups. This is especially important since I wear glasses, and I've found that other headsets put too much pressure on my ears and the arms of my glasses, which eventually cause pain, discomfort, and soreness. I've never had to deal with that with the Arctis 7.

Before my first purchase, I was worried about how thin the connections between the headband and earpieces are. They look very fragile, but despite their appearance, the headset is incredibly durable. I have these earpieces wedged between my head and my pillow every night, and they've always held up to the strain. On top of that, I've dropped the headset more times than I can count, without any sign of damage. My only recommendation would be to make sure the charging cable isn't tugging or pulling on the charging port on the headset, because this will loosen and eventually break the charging port.

Here are some other things worth noting:

The sound quality is decent, but it's nothing spectacular either. This is a headset for gaming. If you're looking for a headset with high sound quality and bass to listen to your music, there are better options out there. But, if you're looking for a good, clear headset for gaming and voice comms, this is a great choice.

The mic is clear and crisp.

The wireless connection has a reasonable range. I can be in my kitchen (down the hall from my bedroom) and still have perfect, uninterrupted connection. My only criticism would be that when you're out of range, the headset will remind you by beeping, and beeping, and beeping... and beeping..... and beeping. It can get really annoying. While I'm out of range, I'd say it beeps somewhere between every 2-5 seconds. I wish the light on the mic just flashed instead.

The battery life is nothing short of incredible. When they say this headset will last for 24 hours on one charge, they mean it. It also only takes a few hours to fully charge. In the time that I've owned this headset, there has never been a moment where I've been limited by the battery.

I bought this headset for my brother in the middle of 2018, after their old headset stopped working. They liked it so much, that when my headset finally stopped working, I switched to the Arctis 7 as well. They put it through about the same level of use as I do (if not more). We've both been very happy with this headset, which is why I absolutely needed to buy this headset again.

Personally, I was never anyone to invest money into what I wear during gaming or other uses. I always had the mindset that if it played noise, and I could hear decently and clearly it worked. As I'm building a new PC setup I decided to splurge a bit and invest in a well rated headset and shell out the extra cash for something that might sound good.

I went with this one because steelseries has a good name for itself amongst the gaming community and has produced some fairly good quality products. Some of which I've used, To say that this is different would be a blatant lie.

The headset has a good feel and very nice support, The build quality is nice a robust and feels like it'll hold if you have a few accidental slips/rages. The support band sits nicely across your head and adjusting it is a breeze. The earpads feel amazing, It's like a mini cushion purely for your ears. Volume and balancing between game sounds and party chat is as easy as pressing a button on the headset as while as having a easy to find dedicated mute button found on the earcup instead of a huge bulky control thing on the cord.

Lastly, the sound quality. Oh my god. It might not be as good for people who have used better quality headsets in their lifetime. But as someone who has only used cheaper ones, This thing was a world of difference. You can hear everything around you. Gunshots sound real, sound stage is nice and balanced. Things that are further are quieter than the things that are near you, I can't even put into words the experience that I had when I first put these on.

Although this is a great product, It does come with it's fair share of issues. Wireless doesn't work on Xbox, But it does come with a cord to use it wired. Not sure if that's an issue on steelseries side or Microsofts but it was a let down. If you plan to use it on a phone, make sure you have an adapter as it uses the traditional headphone jack and of course our phone companies want as much money as they can so they took to removing it. I've seen reviews of people having issues with the surround sound which I suppose varies to your experience as I haven't seen any issues.

The main disappointment is using it across consoles. To activate the DTS 2.0 surround you need to purchase a license, It's about 20$ CDN but still sucks as the product seems to hint that it supports it for free, Which it doesn't on CONSOLES. PC seems to recognize it easily enough and there's no need to pay for a license from what I've seen.

Overall, It's an amazing product for someone in the market to up their headset game. Just be aware of certain issues that you may come across, and if you plan to use it on mobile devices as well as consoles, Make sure you either have the hard/software already, or that you're willing to shell out the extra 15-20$ to get it!

    [PACKAGING]
Nulla da eccepire nell'imballaggio e spedizione fornita da 鶹.

5.0 out of 5 stars Many Wireless Headsets - Arctis 7 Wins!
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2018

Wireless Headsets I went through before keeping this one: (problem from memory in parentheses)
HyperX Cloud Flight - Bought/Returned (pressed ears slightly?)
    Corsair HS70 - Bought/Returned (pressed ears)
Corsair Void Pro - Tried in-store (pressed ears)
Logitech G533 - Tried in-store (clunky, harsh cups)
    Razer Nari - Bought/Returned (heavy)
    Astro A20 - Tried in-store (pressed ears)
Sony Gold Wireless Headset (late 2018 updated version) - Tried in-store (pressed ears)
Bluetooth aptX Headsets (we'll get into why later if you're interested):
    TaoTronics TT-BH036 - Bought/Returned (latency)
Avantree HT4189 - Bought/Returned (latency, clamping force, pressed ears)

    Comfort:
This is the most common reason I returned/did not purchase many of the previously mentioned headsets. I apparently have a very weird head. I'm super sensitive to shallow cups (ears stick out causing pain if pressed for a long time) and clamping force (big head causes headaches if squeezed for very long). Heavy headsets can still "squeeze" my head due to weight on top of my head even if they don't have much clamping force on the sides. Due to this, I feel confident that I am as critical as it gets as far as headset comfort goes. The Arctis 7 was kept because it did not cause discomfort when wearing for many hours. There is a caveat: As it comes in the box, it has too much clamping force for me. Luckily, the headband is made out of "sheet metal" and an adjustable strap. The strap can be loosened to let the headset contact as much of the top of your head as possible (distributing weight to remove pressure points). The metal band can be bent backwards to reduce how hard it squeezes your head. I found a forum post somewhere made by an acclaimed Steelseries employee who advised this, so that is what I did, and it worked great. Just be gentle, do it a little at a time, eventually it will be perfect! There is no padding on the interior of the cups which scared me as I usually need it, but these cups do not touch my ears somehow so it is not required.

    Latency:
This is more of a side note for the bluetooth headsets. Most everyone knows that bluetooth headsets will have higher latency than headsets with proprietary wireless transmitters. What some don't know is that there is a variant of bluetooth protocol that aims to correct this, it is called "aptX". To use it, both your transmitting and receiving devices must be aptX enabled. I will admit, the latency was very low for the aptX bluetooth headphones. When watching videos it was unnoticeable, however when playing an FPS, it was very very soft but it was there. Switching over to my wired headset confirmed this. If you are going for a wireless headset for gaming, you currently must get one designed for it. The Arctis 7 does not have noticeable latency, nor did any of the other gaming headsets I tried.

    Speaker Quality:
I'm definitely not an audiophile but I have higher than average taste in sound. This headset sounds nice. I have not played with the EQ, but I may try to turn up the lows a little bit.

    Mic Quality:
It's wireless, and a gaming headset, so it is what it is. It seems to pick up more depth to the sound than other mics, your voice won't sound as flat, however I suppose this comes at a cost on background noise cancellation as it seems a little more prevalent in this headset than others.

    Construction:
This is one of the more well-built units I've got my hands on. Time will tell how it holds up, but the build quality seems upper-tier.

    Battery:
I can't comment on this, but I highly advise that you get some magnetic micro usb cables. Basically, the cable becomes two pieces. You plug a little micro usb dongle in your headset and then you can connect the corresponding cable any way around. The dongle and cable magnetically snap together. Makes plugging the headset in so easy that you won't ever be conflicted with "should I fumble with the connector or should I skip charging for now and just do it later". Any time I set the headset down, I charge it, because it's super easy to do so now. Therefore I will never be able to comment on batter life.

If you too are plagued by comfort issues, and maybe do not want to go wireless just yet (cost being the only reason I can think of), I would highly recommend the HyperX Cloud Silver. They're not cheap but they are worth it. To this day they are the most comfortable headset I have ever worn, with good sound and great build quality.

Great sound quality and mic quality. Be aware - give it a chance. I was very used to some old headphones and it took a few days to get used to them. After that they have been amazing and I have used them for over 1 year. Very durable and very long battery life. good range - sometimes disconnects unexplainably when on low battery and you will need to restart the sound driver/ pc to reconnect. If it gets that low battery, its your fault anyway as it will warn you repeatedly
