I tried this pan because my favourite bread recipe makes two large and one small loaf. I honestly did not think it would be non-stick, but it is!!! The bread falls out beautifully, and it makes a nice small loaf for smaller sandwiches, etc. It seems to cook very evenly, and cleans up very easily. I plan to try it out with a meatloaf and a banana bread soon, and am fairly certain it will perform well for both. The price was great for such a nice quality pan. I highly recommend this.

I'll admit I didn't have high expectations for this Ceramic Ovenware product because of the low price. I purchased two for the purpose of bread baking. First up: Solid well-made product that withstands high heat (I went over recommended maximum) and cleans easily. The size is perfect if you prefer smaller loaves. 3 cups of flour will allow you to split quantity (after proofing) into two loaves - I create no-knead 18 hour proofing bread and complete the final 2 hour proofing in the Starfrit products themselves, avoiding the necessity of transferring before placing in oven. Rises perfectly to fit the shape and height of the pans. Interior finish of product allows loaves to slip out effortlessly - no sticking.

Here's a suggestion: If you buy two products, wrap one loaf for storage in freezer, and with the other loaf (after a day to allow for consumption of crusty bread), place the bread back in one of the ceramic pans and invert the second pan on top to create a reasonably air tight container for daily use. Loaf remains moist for several days.

This product has the ability to cook a wide range of food items.

I have purchased expensive dutch oven bread-baking pots and other pans in the past - all good. The Starfrit Rock Ceramic Ovenware Loaf Pan is by far the more versatile product at a fraction of the price of others I've used. Well satisfied.
