First one arrived dented so I requested a replacement. It arrived in two days! Return was easy as they picked it up at my house. This is how shopping online should be. Fun movie in the Star Trek universe.
Section 31(Jan/25)stars Michelle Yeoh. Michelle portrays a sadistic ruler of the Terran Empire who has come to this universe and now runs a bar.Section 31 is dispatched to obtain a doomsday device from a smuggler.Yeoh herself created it in the alternate universe some time before and thought it destroyed. Yeoh's personal assistant is a Charonite from the original series- a black & white face.Section 31 has a Chameloid-a shape shifter(from Star Trek 6) and a Deltan-bald headed(from Star Trek 1).Now I understand Yeoh's character was introduced in ST Discovery, which I've never watched.I first saw Section 31 in the show in which it was created by Ira Behr:Deep Space Nine. The original series & DS9 are both my favourites in the entire franchise. That is why I picked this film up. This Section 31 crew are far from the clandestine outfit in DS9.They are all cardboard cutouts with no depth. And considering her present position and attitude towards others,it completely goes against Yeoh's background as a supposedly sadistic despot from the Terran Universe.Once again all show and no depth. The show's terribly weak script is another thing working full time against the believability of this film. Along with Abrams plowing the Star Trek film franchise into the ground, this is yet another shallow nail into the Star Trek coffin.Give this a wide pass with phasers on stun.
A must have for all Trekkers!! A great film that held my attention from start to finish! An awesome addition to anyone's existing Star Trek film collection.
This movie was great honestly I think people were determined to dislike the movie before it was made no matter what. The story of section 31 should be told we need to learn even more about it. This movie the only thing was it wasn't long enough they made it too short for a stand alone story
Saw it on paramount, it's not a star trek movie. Star trek parodies have better writing. If you want to watch a well written newer star trek series watch lower decks.
This movie stinks! It was hardly Trek at all, and had zero originality in the story. Disappointing after we waited so long for it, and then it just felt rushed and unpolished. I could use another Rachel Garrett story if she actually represents the Federation adequately...
