    I have used this to mend a couple of things and just tried it out on some throw away plastic. It melts the staples into the plastic very quickly. The staples are made of a hard alloy and I would not try to use ordinary wire cutters on them. I found that a diamond cutting wheel on a dremel tool works very well and let's you cut close. I got six of the wheels before the tariffs hit, for a reasonable price. I originally bought them to cut high speed steel.
    I bought some staples that were supposed to be notched so you can easily break them off when set, from a Chinese store, but sadly they had no notches.

    This hot stapler is perfect for fixing some of the broken and cracked plastic panels on my dirtbike. For about $15 it’s a great tool for quick inexpensive repairs. This in conjunction with a plastic welder makes a nice fix for many plastics.there are a few different styles of staples that achieve different holds on the material you’re working with.
