Product description
The Square D by Schneider Electric QO Qwik-Gard 30 Amp Two-Pole GFCI Circuit Breaker is intended for protection of entire branch circuits where damp-location shock hazards may exist, providing overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system. The ANSI-certified and UL-listed unit is rated for 120/240 VAC and 10,000 AIR. All QO circuit breakers are equipped with the exclusive Visi-Trip indicator. When a QO Visi-Trip circuit breaker trips, the handle snaps to a midpoint position between "OFF" and "ON" and a highly visible, red indicator easily identifies the tripped breaker. This enables you to easily distinguish which breaker has tripped in a load center that may contain up to 42 different circuit breakers. QO circuit breakers have features no other manufacturer can offer. They come in many different sizes and can meet the needs of virtually every function in your home or business. These types of quality, industry exclusive products keep the Square D brand ahead of the competition and are builders' and electrical contractors' first choice in electrical protection.Trip thermally (in an overload situation) or magnetically (under a short circuit situation)

- Reviewed in Canada on October 17, 2024Verified PurchaseWe have had this for quite a few months now and it seems to work perfectly. Better than running around from supplier to supplier trying to find someone who has it in stock. Deliver the next day or so can’t beat 鶹 - Sorry retailers, but I am tired of driving around spending gas and phoning to find out that you don’t have it

5.0 out of 5 stars Beatup box looked like old stock but price was about half of big box store and unit new
Verified PurchaseBox was scuffed and looked as if it had sat on shelf but unit itself was new condition and Neutral lead had never been uncoiled for an install and screws showed no signs of use. . Unit worked perfectly and self test GF button operated once installed.
Check your breaker box is a Square D "OL" style before you buy this as it wont fit most other Square D breaker boxes.
If you are using this with *stranded wire* like THNN then I would highly recommend you use it with a ferrule and crimp tool to make the wire clamping much easier and more secure. You can get a surprisingly good unit with some ferrules on 鶹 for around $15. "Ferrule Crimping Tool Kit, LUNEY Wire Ferrule Kit" this crimper handles wire to 7AWG although the ferules supplied only got to 8AWG.
A better crimper on amazon is "Wire Ferrule Crimping Tool, Preciva 16-4 Square Jaw Wire Crimping Pliers Self-Adjustable Ratchet Ferrule Terminals Crimper of AWG28-5" which has a wider range of AWG sizes but does not come with any ferrules included and costs ~$20.
To meet NEC and electrical local code nowdays you need to use a torque screwdriver. Even if you aren't getting the install inspected it is really important to torque connections to vendor spec as even professional Electricians have wildly varying torque guestimates if no torque screwdriver is used. If the unit is not torqued correctly it can cause local heating at connections and eventually arcing which is a fire hazard.
I used an "AUTLEAD Adjustable T-shape Torque Screwdriver ATSD01" this is the same as the 鶹 listing device "ALEAPOW 1/4” Torque Wrench Set" but I paid about 60% of that units price. The hefty T-handle makes torqueing to the 36lb-in for 8AWG in this breaker, relatively easy. There are other low cost torque screwdrivers on amazon for around $30 but I have no experience with those.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT install on any circuit with a grounded neutral...
Verified PurchaseQO230GFICP QO Circuit Breaker, 30-Amp, 240V, GFCI, Plug-In Mount
The breaker handle should be delivered in the “trip” (middle) position, which indicates that’s it’s been factory tested. Flip the breaker switch both ways to ensure that it’s not cracked or broken. Install the breaker and verify that it works properly for YOUR circuit within the 30-day return period. 鶹 has the best return policy in the business.
These breakers work fine if installed for a circuit that can be GFCI protected, such as an electric water heater wired with 10/2 + ground. It mostly works fine for 10/3 + ground circuits as long as that circuit’s neutral wire does not physically contact a ground wire on that circuit.
DO NOT use this or any other GFCI on circuits with a grounded neutral, such as a 30-amp dryer circuit using 10/3 + ground. I.e., where that ground and neutral physically touch within the dryer electrical box or within the dryer itself. A dryer wired with 10/3 + ground that has a 3-wire cord and plug is a dead giveaway. In cases like this, any GFCI breaker will trip instantly.
These breakers are an inch or so wider than thermal breakers, so you won’t be able to see the outer snaps that align with the service panel connection bar. To install, align the new breaker in its final position with all four snaps touching the service panel connections at the same time and push it straight back. It will take a bit of force to snap it into place. Move the breaker switch to the tripped or off position while installing the 10 gauge circuit wires, and DO NOT push on the switch as that could break. The circuit’s wires can be installed before or after snapping this breaker into the panel. If they are connected first, those stiff 10 gauge wires can make alignment with the receiving panel connections a bit more difficult.
