- Reviewed in Canada on May 30, 2025Verified PurchaseThe game brought back the joy of playing a Final Fantasy game for the first time, but it also improved on many of the dynamics of random combats while walking by adding a mode where you can skip many of these, to do these all at once later which is a different type of combat experience that is a bit better, and help with grinding levels or money.
The game is long enough for someone that works and cannot spend all day playing the game lime when we were kids so that part is great too.
I wish the game was cheaper but in 2025, not many games that fun will be.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 31, 2025Verified PurchaseYou can tell this game has its origins in a mobile game but thay doesn't take away from the story. And to have the classic duo of Sakaguchi and Uematsu involved here makes it a natural play for me.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 23, 2025One of the best old school RPG, the game is well made. Most of the boss got some gimmick and make you think. Each boss feel fresh. This is the proof that RPGs does'nt always need realistic graphics to be good.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 26, 2025Verified PurchaseWas expecting a masterpiece by the legendary Hironobu Sakaguchi, but unfortunately this game really feels it’s low budget. The music was stellar, but the gameplay and story dragged on and weren’t enough to keep me until the end
- Reviewed in Canada on April 3, 2025Verified PurchaseNot much to the game: story is meh, gameplay is lacking. Many RPGs out there that will provide a more enjoyable experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Throwback that's worth a play
Verified PurchaseThis feels like an old style Final Fantasy game. The encounter rate is high, but the unique twist on random battles makes it feel rewarding as it allows you to rack up EXP fast. The ability to choose the battle music (random is for sure the way to go), as well as NG+ keeps the game fresh and never boring. The diorama set pieces are all very well done. Worth playing for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun game for a traditional turn-based RPG lover.
Verified PurchaseThis game is truly just a lot of fun. For those looking for a traditional RPG. This is your stop. The game has solid graphics for a mobile port, is turn based, and the main character has a Nier Automata look to him.
Getting to visit all the cool Dioramas was pretty awesome. Even if you just end up buying digital while on sale, this game is truly worth it for someone who just wants that classic RPG feel, without the classic graphics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strikes all the Final Fantasy VII nostalgic feels
Verified PurchaseA friend at the game store we frequent recommended this one to me based on my love of Final Fantasy VII, then contacted me again when 鶹 put the game on sale, and for both reasons I picked this one up. He was right -- it's a gorgeous game and hits all the right nostalgia feels. It's as if FF7 was made today, the same style, except using dioramas instead of pre-rendered backdrops, and the battles are actually much more fluid. The Dimengeon is a nice touch because you can save up random encounters and do them all at once. Highly recommended!
