Keep your garage door opener up and running using Garage Door Opener Gear Kits from LiftMaster. All of our Garage Door Opener Gear Kits include helical gear and top hat assembly, worm gear, wear bushings, grease and hardware needed to replace the dual speed sprocket and gears.

Power OFF before installation

The garage door MUST be in the fully closed position during installation !!!

Be careful,spend more time adjusting the limit to chain off of the gear. We have to loosen these two nuts.

When to Adjust the Limits

If the door does not open completely but opens at least five feet: Increase UP (Open) travel. Turn the Up limit adjustment screw clockwise. One turn equals 2'' of travel.

If this is the model number you need for your garage door opener, it works great. Fits just fine and seems of good quality. Just to reiterate what someone else mentioned: be careful with the bottom three pronged piece on the assembly when you're taking it out and putting it back in. I guess it can break. I never had a problem with it, but I treated it like it was made of glass.

The grease pack it comes with is plenty. If you store it properly it will probably last you the life of the garage door opener itself, depending on how dusty your garage is.

I don't remember the instructions being very helpful, but just make note of, or take pictures of it as you take it apart. It's not an overly complicated system.

Great kit that worked for me. The teeth of the chain sprocket on this one were a smidge too long and caused problems. Good thing I only needed the large gear. I drove the lower roll pin out with a pin punch, swapped the gears, put it back together and it went back in the opener. I did have to adjust the door limit switched but that's no big deal. Easy as cake. Piece of pie. (Tip of the Day: Zip tie the bag of unused parts to the opener, where the chain drive wont eat it. They will be easy to find when you need them. I might see if I can just order the gear - for next time.)
