The lighted USB inputs are a nice blue light that's easy on the eyes. I plugged my Razor keyboard, mouse and headset into this, as well as a Printer. The active USB connections are lit up but can be shut down individually by holding the button for each active {lighted} USB down for 2 sec. So far so good.

The USB Hub must be on and the appropriate ports powered up before turning computer on or some of the devices may not get recognized by the computer after booting up. After bootup if a device is not recognized or not recognized properly, try a different port. EG. Sometimes my Razor headset would not be recognized properly or sometimes not at all. Trying a different port usually fixes the issue.

Some minor grievances: The power buttons on the top of the unit look very plasticky but seem sturdy enough. A main power button/switch would be a much needed feature that this unit is missing instead of pushing each individual button to turn off devices. The power cord and USB cords are short and I had to place it on edge of the desk closest to the computer. Because of this I then ran my headset and printer cords under my keyboard mat. That was the only way to keep cords out of the way and still reach the Hub. A longer power cord and corresponding USB cord on the hub would have alleviated the problem by enabling center placement on the desk.

All in all, this unit does what its supposed to with minor issues and not ideal placement. A main power button and longer cords are what this hub needs to give it a 5 star rating. That being said, its not perfect but deserves 4 stars.

It took me several weeks of research to make decision and get the 7-port device. I have it for a month and use it to attach various devices, like external Blu-Ray drive, two Samsung T5 1TB and other external HDs, card reader, occasionally Galaxy 10+ and such. It works great and it’s fast to transfer files. It took 5 minutes for 70GB file to be transferred between 2 Samsung T5 1TB external SSD drives and about the same between T5 and internal Samsung SSD (an older EVO 850).

I did not think that I’ll be using it often (as my old USB 2 was not used much), but it became my everyday tool. I even attached it to my desk with Velcro. It is small enough to fit there and it looks very nice.

I love on/off switches. I use them all the time, even though initially I did not think I would. The light can be seen in the adjacent slot if that one is off, but the difference is very visible and not confusing at all.

Overall, I’m very happy with this device.
