Microwave: Combine 3/4 cup water, dash of salt and ½ cup Splendor Garden Thick Rolled Oats in a medium microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stir and cook on medium for an additional minute. Cover and let sit for a few minutes. Stir before serving.

    I expect this is an exception but our Vet who specializes in homeopathic & natural nutrition/health recommended the product in conjunction with other homecoming for our Dog's inflammatory bowel problem but is raw not cooked.
    I did cook up the rolled oats for us to try & they take a little longer than the quick but were very tender, creamy & tasty so we do have them from time to time. Yes, cost is more & a bag doesn't go a long way for us to have.

    I'm not a porridge kinda gal, (soft/mushy)...I like oatmeal that has some bite to it w/no liquid and this brand fits the bill. I just got a bag of these the other day and I prepare them like this:

    1 cup oats
    1 cup boiling water (from kettle)

    Stir (in a bowl), add a pinch of salt and some dried cranberries and it's ready to eat within a few minutes (the sweetness from the berries has a chance to infuse the oats a bit, no extra sugar needed). I like them chewy with some bite. I also sprinkle some chopped pecans or walnuts over top just before eating.
