Interesting Words, but No Practice Exercises
This book is smaller than I thought it would be. For some reason I was thinking it would be the full page but it's only about half size. The word lists are interesting, and challenging for a grade six student. They sort lists by themes each day, which I think is also a good idea as opposed to going by groups of word sounds. My biggest issue with the book though is that all it is just a list of words with two blank spaces beside it, one for the student to write in the word and the other to be assessed on their spelling. There are no practice activities whatsoever, and so every day has a new list of words. It's probably my own fault for not reading the description properly, but I had assumed there would be a list of words for each week and then practice activities associated with each list. If you're looking for spelling word activities, this is not the book you need However, if you're looking for simple spelling lists at the grade level this would work well. Otherwise, the book is well constructed, and seems to be of good quality.
