    Did you know that this classic is, in fact, a musical true story ?... Well, the second disc will tell you a lot more about it than I. Just to let you know, the real Maria visit the set during the making of the movie.

    “The Sound of Music” is an enchanting moment, it is a classic that I enjoy year after year as part of my Christmas collection, usually the time in my youth when the family was looking at it on TV. This Blu-ray, though, had brought back the grandeur and magnificence of its image which is by itself a important and valuable plus point. The sound is also so clear and the colors so bright that it gives the impression that you’re seeing it for the first time. I cannot tell how much I was happy when I finally got it back on my shelf.

    I recommend it without any doubt. It is a pure five stars.

    There is not one single thing in this movie to not like. I've seen it several times and finally bought it so I could watch it whenever I feel like it. My husband passed during Covid and almost everything reminds me of him and makes me cry. Needless to say, I cried on and off all through this gorgeous movie.............Christopher Plummer is outstanding and of course, what can one say about Julie Andrews and those 7 adorable children. The nun singing "Climb Every Mountain" is nothing short of perfection. Can you tell I loved it?

    I wasn't sure if this was some non-original musical number or the real one with Julie Andrews (due to the drawing like picture on the front cover of the DVD). Thankfully it's the original with footage that's usually not shown on TV. It's extremely long but enjoyable. There are some extra footage such as the tour that's been going on for a long time showing all the filming location as well as songs featured in the movie. Quality is reasonable since the original was taken decades ago. They brushed it up where they could. Sound is great too. If you love the movie and want to see every part of it (including those that are always skipped when shown on TV), then this is a great investment.

I love that the subtitles are nice and large which makes for easy viewing (even though I have the movie mostly memorized. Haven't tried the other special features yet, but there are plenty to choose from!
