From the manufacturer

Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 super-telephoto zoom G lens
This high-resolution super-telephoto APS-C zoom G lens features an optimized optical and mechanical design, resulting in excellent image quality across the image area and 350mm max zoom range, with convenience and mobility of the compact, lightweight design. Built-in optical image stabilization adds stability and fast, precise, and quiet XD linear motors rapidly bring your image into focus.
Features
Dust and moisture resistant for robust reliability1
The dust and moisture resistance design makes this lens appropriate for heavy-duty outdoor use, especially when combined with a camera that employs weather resistant measures1.
1- Not guaranteed to be 100% dust and moisture resistant
XD Linear Motor for fast, precise, quiet AF
Sony’s advanced XD (extreme Dynamic) linear motor technology - the same type used in G Master series lenses - focuses on and tracks even fast-moving subjects with outstanding speed and precision. Coupled with the advanced real-time AF capability of the latest compact APS-C bodies, you have a high-performance, easy-handling system for landscapes, wildlife, and more.
7-blade circular aperture contributes to gorgeous bokeh
The 7-blade circular aperture maximizes the beauty of this large-aperture prime-lens, contributing to impressive images in which the subject stands out against a smoothly defocused foreground and background, as well as perfectly round points of defocused light. Conventional aperture blades have flat sides that create unappealing, polygonal-shaped defocused points of light. Alpha lenses overcome this problem through a unique design that keeps the aperture almost perfectly circular from its wide-open setting to when it is closed by 2 stops. Smoother, more natural defocusing can be obtained as a result.
Features
Focus hold button, programmable for multiple functions
The focus hold button not only performs its primary function to lock focus when recomposing, but can be customized to a number of other functions depending on your needs. In addition to Focus Hold, these custom functions include: Eye AF, AF On, Aperture Preview, Shot Result Preview or Bright Monitoring.
Linear Response MF
Linear Response MF realizes precise manual focus control, closely equivalent to mechanical manual focus, which enables linear focus transition to ring rotation angle for repeatable and accurate manual focus that is especially desirable for MF control during video capture.
Instant auto/manual focus selection
Instantly and quickly switch between auto and manual focus via an AF/MF switch on the side of the lens. This makes operation faster and easier as you let the camera and lens focus for you, or decide to take control and manually focus on the precise point you chose.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 13, 2021Verified PurchaseAs sharp as sharp can be. Sure the max aperture is slower, but what you get in return is a very compact zoom. I walked with my a6400 and that lens attached to my backpack shoulder strap with a clip for half a day on a mountain and the weight or length was not overwhelming. A must if you own a Sony apsc body and want to do some wildlife or landscape photography. The image stabilisation works great, but I haven't tested it extensively; at 350mm, I got sharp results at 1/160 sec. AF is excellent, really no complaints about this lens, except it is hard to leave it out of my camera bag. You never know when Big Foot might show up, better be ready for him.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 8, 2021Verified PurchaseI migrated from a dslr to a Sony a6000 because the weight of my old kit was taking its toll on my body when I was hiking and exploring the outdoors. One of the lenses I was trying to replace was a 300mm F4 prime which was what I normally used for general wildlife/bird photography in and around the local hiking trails where I live.
While the F6.3 aperture at 350mm could be a tradeoff as I've noticed having to bump up the iso quite a bit now (but not too bad because of the optical stabilization). I set and forget the shutter speed to 1/500 when I'm out birding and get quite a few decent shots if it's not too dark out. The sharpness is comparable to my old prime lens and the versatility of the zoom is appreciated although I am using the 350mm about 90% of the time.
I am definitely enjoying the much lighter setup of the sony aps-c kit; I can carry this lens mounted on the camera + two small-medium lenses in a 3L camera bag with me and not be 'aching' after a day out hiking.

I'm simply blown away with how utterly sharp the results are. Background bokeh looks decent also. This lens is a total treat !
- Reviewed in Canada on May 16, 2021Verified PurchaseThis lens is as sharp as the in-depth reviews suggest it would be, so absolutely no complaints there.
For its focal length and (average) speed it's a very reasonable size and length.
And the revered Sony autofocus works well across the entire frame, which wasn't the case for the Tamron lens I had previously.
I've included some example shots, all of which were hand held at long focal lengths and in lowish light.

5.0 out of 5 stars An ideal lens for the traveler
Verified PurchaseThis is a wonderful lens that I purchased from 鶹 Warehouse for my sony a6600 and a6000. I have no idea why folks would give this lens anything but a five star rating. See for yourself-check out the many pro reviews of this lens on You Tube-no pro reviewer has given this lens anything but a steller rating! I travel internationally and use zooms all the time since great shots of people, animals, or scenery cannot be reached quickly by walking and if you want to capture the moment a zoom lens allows you many different photos that a prime lens can't get. When I go to soccer games, or any sporting activity, am in nature shooting photos of animals, or in the city shooting close ups of various scenes, a 350mm reach allows for wonderful intimate and clear images. So why is this lens so good? l. It's relatively small size is crucial for travelers, including fairly light weight and a compact size that can fit in a small half-day pack. 2. The fact that it is a Sony lens makes it easy to sync with the A6600's image stabilization and auto focusing sensors. 3. The images produced are of high quality. 4. The lens has a significant reach-over 500mm converted to full frame. Cons-lack of a certain setting results in any object close by, such as a chain link fence (if you are at a zoo and trying to shoot through a fence creating focusing problems with your subject in the distance; 2. The lens is not good in low light settings so is essentially a day lens only. With this lens I feel very complete in terms of what I'll be bringing with my A6600 camera body: Sigma 30mm, Sony 18-135, Sony 70-350, and one wide angle (small lens). This is a very complete kit for shooting wonderful photos and videos.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great lens!
Verified PurchaseA great lens! I bought this lens for my Sony A6400 to take pictures of sports events where it's difficult to get close to an intended subject and this lens brought me close to the action! The lens is also great for taking landscape photos or close up pictures of batters hitting a baseball. Super clear pictures, fast auto focus and amazingly light to carry for a large lens.
