  • No, pass-through crimp tools are specifically designed for pass-through RJ45 connectors. They won’t work effectively with standard connectors because there is no wire to pass through for trimming.

  • After crimping, ensure the wires are neatly trimmed and the connection is secure. Use a network cable tester to confirm proper signal transmission. A correctly crimped pass-through connector will have no excess wires and a solid connection.

  • The blade should be replaced when it starts to dull, which will result in uneven or unclean wire cuts. This typically happens after extensive use. Regularly inspect the blade and replace it when it no longer cuts the excess wires cleanly.
