I have automatic foaming dispensers in my bathrooms, but my husband detests the foaming soap. He’s convinced it dries out his hands, so I needed to get an alternative soap for him. This one contains coconut oil and other mild ingredients, so I thought it was worth a try.

My first impression was that it really does smell like coconuts! If you don’t like the smell of coconut, this won’t be the best choice for you. The texture is a bit different than a standard hand soap, almost like a gel. It doesn’t lather quite as much as some hand soaps, but it still does a fine job of cleaning the hands. The most important part is that my husband doesn’t find it drying at all—he likes it a lot, and uses it as-is from the dispenser it comes in.

I have confirmed that I can add water to this soap (around 35-40% soap to water) and also use it in my foaming hand dispensers as well. We used to buy a certain brand-named, natural liquid soap (which I add water to for foaming hand soap), but it’s gone up quite a bit in price. This one performs just as well, but works out to be a much better value, so I’ll be getting this instead from now on. Also, the 4 pack works out well for us as I have 3 bathrooms, and can use the last one for my foaming dispensers. 👍

If you love coconut or tropical scents, this is the hand soap for you. I prefer it to the coconut Bath and Body Works one I have been using before this. I loved the coconut scent, it's potent but not so powerful as to be overpowering. Kind of smells like a tropical mix, like some suntan lotions smell (yummy!)

One pump is enough to thoroughly clean both hands, but it's not a super big lather. It feels nice on my hands and rinses clean very quickly (no greasiness or residue).

The pump dispenses cleanly, and so far I haven't had any problems with the pump getting clogged or "gummy", or dripping after using bottles in three different rooms in the house for a while.

After washing, the scent lingers very lightly for a while on the hands (very pleasant) and my hands feel soft (not dry or tight). I believe that's probably due to the pure coconut oil.

As a whole, this order of four soaps is a great value. I'm covered for months now, and the soap far exceeds cheap brands like Softsoap. It even beats my Bath and Body Works, so I'm very happy.

The soap itself is very good. It pumps cleanly, gets my hands clean quickly with just the right amount of lather, and washes off with ease.

I love the scent; while described as coconut, there are other undertones as well. I’d say it’s more of that nice tropical island all encompassing scent. It makes you feel like you’re on a warm climate vacation, even if for just a minute (while looking silly and smelling your hands).

Where this product could improve is on the labeling. A more sophisticated and cleaner looking label and design could go a long way. I appreciate the see through bottle in that I know how much soap I have left. But the bottle itself looks a bit amateurish in my bathroom. A “less is more” version of the label, perhaps transparent, would make it feel higher end.

Of course a label does not make or break a bottle of soap. The soap itself is very good. It’s just that I’m going to switch bottles out when I have guests.

I ordered this soap because we love the smell of coconut and I like the idea of it using coconut oil. Once I tried it and read the ingredient list, I realize that it’s fairly standard hand soap made with some chemicals that I tend to avoid. It does smell good and the coconut is light and comes through but though it lathers well and works well, it was a bit drying on my hands. Probably a better soap to use in the summer in the drier, cold climate I live in. A basic hand soap with standard, not all natural ingredients.

This Soap House hand soap is a great pick for everyday use. It comes in a value packed 4-pack of 16oz bottles, so you won't be running out anytime soon. It’s a bargain for the quality and quantity that you receive. The lather is nice and creamy, and the coconut scent is strong enough to be pleasant without being overpowering. It reminds me of suntan lotion or piña coladas. Both are great scents in my opinion. It has other scents than cocoanut going on, but primarily coconut. I like that it's made with natural coconut essential oil. My skin feels clean, soft, and smooth after using it, even on these harsh winter days. I haven't noticed any major downsides so far. The product is made in Canada, so they must grow their coconuts indoors up there.
